Much to my dislike, I expected surprises like this... This is the kind of thing you get when the qualifier is single elimination in BO3 with that number of players. That why most formats use pools or looser brackets. I can't understand why they choose this system... With only 8 players qualified this way, that leave a lot of people deserving to play WCS behind. They deserve a system less random. | ||

I don't think the format was that bad. Yes it was no Double Elimination Bracket but the format included 4 Qualifiers where the Top 4 advanced to another Qualifier with Double Elimination. About the number of players: Haven't seen many players who didnt reach at least Master in the past. Not sure if 2x 256 Brackets with Double Elimination is better than 4x 256 Single Elimination. | ||

There are 4 qualifiers that award 4 spots each. That's a pretty forgiving system. | ||
