Go Vortix!! and Lucifron!
Haha 4/8 of all the invited players are liquid. Thats awesome
|
Just tuned in into Lucifron wtf!?

Yeah hes playing too! He won the last TvT series, and now TvZ... if he practices vs vortix it should be a strong matchup for him haha

Looking forward to this qualifier! Gogogo!

Looking good for you so far
|
Wasnt sure about Lucifron but he's looking pretty solid so far.
Vortix has been looking on point as well, he just all killed Karnage yesterday in SC2I Team League for liquid, I think he has a decent shot as well.
There's 8 qualification spots for EU so I definitely can see Vortix being in there.
It also depends on bracket luck though. Lots of strong players here for sure.

No idea on LucifroN's shape but vortix looks really strong

Pretty sure both will make it, Lucifron might struggle a bit and might not qualify today.

Probably since release? I mean even if they were Heroes pros up until last month, if your previously favorite game had a new expansion, you'd still go and play it in your free time I would imagine.
Vortix has been playing 'seriously' for a while before the annoucement was made tho.. kaelaris had that hint that Vortix had said he was 'nearly at his old level before retirement' a week? or so before the official annoucement.

Lucifron is going to pull a Stephano and "accidentally" qualify for WCS.

I think Mutas have now been relegated to role of phoenix... make 5-8, and maybe 10, but don't mass them. He used them really well for drop defense and scouting the main army moveouts but the moment he dove in to do actual base dmg with them =(
The thing is phoenix can actually help out in your max out fight whereas mutas at that number.. ehhhh.

Also another thing a lot of people might not remember: yes, LucifroN at his peak was amazing, but he's also had one of the most abrupt and massive falls at the end of 2013. 0-8 crash and burn at Dreamhack Winter in the group stage followed by 0-6 at ASUS ROG Winter in the group stage. And then a couple of online losses after that. Link

Well at least based on that series I'm not quite as much worried for Serral against PtitDrogo, but who knows.
|
|
As long as drogo actually macros, then I think this series could be close.

Come on SortOf!!

8 streams - 2 games streamed )= I hate the feeling you get when a match you want to watch isn't streamed and this happens.

SortOf playing better each game, sick multipronged attacks all game long.

Looking at the VOD drogo had 16 probes, 20 supply of zealot when he gg'ed out. Serral had 12 drones, 8 supply of lings and queen and only one spine left. It seems like it was an idra GG indeed

LB is Dayshi/Bly vs Hartem/Guru and then vs Firecake/Vortix/Namshar/Showtime, Firecake/Vortix vs Namshar/Showtime and then vs Dayshi/Bly/Harstem/Guru so everything is possible

Yeah it seems like since in LotV you have more bases, more bases means more gas, more gas means more colossus. So even though they're not nearly as good as their HotS counterparts you can afford to get more of them without completely crippling the rest of your army.

Moulou has just been a good subtop french player for few years. He is just no Marinelord yet. Definitely not top EU games

I don't think the move on the Colossus was a mis micro I think he was getting out of the Liberation zone with them. Though I'm not sure why he decided that was the only place he could engage. He shouldn't have gone through that kill zone.

I don't get TvZ. beastyqt goes for a bunch of reapers that get repeatedly surrouded by lings and killed doing absolutely nothing. And then goes pure marine off of 6 raxs (including 3 with no reactor/tech lab) and then just a-moves and kills minimath.
|
Cool first map between Sortof and Welmu
|
Well done Sortof, great game!
|
I just got home. Has anything amazing happened in any of the MUs so far? Something that I need to watch on VODs.
|
Oh Welmu.
And after this the Assembly with all kinds of other zergs
Sometimes times are tough.

Come on Zanster, we can't get enough of sweet Swedish zerg here.

it's still early to say this.. but I guess we'll only get 1 protoss on Saturday match

Wow, Zanster, impressive! Excellent play!

Much to my dislike, I expected surprises like this... This is the kind of thing you get when the qualifier is single elimination in BO3 with that number of players. That why most formats use pools or looser brackets.
I can't understand why they choose this system...
With only 8 players qualified this way, that leave a lot of people deserving to play WCS behind. They deserve a system less random.

I don't think the format was that bad. Yes it was no Double Elimination Bracket but the format included 4 Qualifiers where the Top 4 advanced to another Qualifier with Double Elimination. About the number of players: Haven't seen many players who didnt reach at least Master in the past. Not sure if 2x 256 Brackets with Double Elimination is better than 4x 256 Single Elimination.

There are 4 qualifiers that award 4 spots each. That's a pretty forgiving system.

Also, we actually use seedings for our qualifiers.

I hate when zerg spreads creep right up to the edge of your base. It's always a decently accurate metaphor for how the game has played out. It's almost like a manner hatch. And it hurts my feelings.

Can someone explain how the Challenger spots work? Is it another qualification for those spots or do you need to reach a certain position in these qualifiers to fight for the last challenger spots?
|
Lambo - GungFuBanda. The war of Germany.
|
Random tip after seeing his probe transfer being too early. Transfer probes when the building nexus goes from yellow to green in the HP bar. This will align perfectly.
|
Is gungfubanda known for bm or something? This is the second game today where he didn't gg.
|
On February 07 2016 04:33 royalroadweed wrote: Is gungfubanda known for bm or something? This is the second game today where he didn't gg.
Afaik he is not known for BM.
Maybe you're reading too much into it. It can just be something he forgets in a high preasure situation. And it doesn't really matter. If him and Lambo are on decent terms, Lambo wont mind AT ALL. And neither should we.
Don't let twitch chat make you see drama everywhere. It's toxic. And it wont make your life better.
|
Gungfupanda with bronze structure placement blocking his Immortals in the main hahaha
|
terran overkill, why do they have to meet
one of Happy or Dayshi won't be in WCS ....
|
LOL that 0 kill disruption in the mineral line

I could see myself play a two disruptor, 1 immortal all in on this map. Two base. That might help correct my winrate vZ to something that isn't embarrasing

Gung is angry... At himself. This is why he is a good player. He looks for his own mistakes, rather than mistakes in the game. That's how some people get good, and others don't.
|
Completly fair 3:0 imo. Lambo is also slitghtly more likeable, or as a wise man once said "no gg no skill".
|
He really didn't play well in that series. Would've liked him to go trough. Now we're stuck with ZvZ.

As far as I know we are not seeing any ZvZ. Lambo and Sortof has already qualified, and the rest of the qualifier only holds Serral.
Gung still has a chance in loser's.

Generally the thing I remember most about him is that he tried to bribe his opponent in WCS. Haven't really been able to cheer for him, since. Not too sure about the BM, though.
Damn, I love ToD's analysis, and the chill cast is cool, but it feels like there's not a bit of excitement in these matches when I should be feeling the excitement of qualifying for an amazing tournament. Needs a hype man to cast with.
