Any rules on servers or who decides who hosts and gets server choices? As for example im Central US and cant play on Australia. Extremely high ping and I get dced constantly.

I don't have any info sorry, but I asked on twitter and linked the thread, otherwise check with the admin on tournament day I guess.

which I really dont want to do on tournament day. As if I get screwed and get unplayable conditions than I would rather not sign up and not set time out of my day and be out doing something else with my saturday. This new server setup is really lame for the NA central scene...

Yeah it does make things more complicated, didn't even think about that so far. Hopefully it will be clear how it's handled soon!
In addition to 24 invited players, we will offer 8 qualifier slots [...]
Regarding the prize pool nothing has been publicised yet, but I'm fairly sure it will be a total of 25k $.
Alright, thanks for the info. I'm sure it's going to be a fun event. I'm just hoping to see some Finns on the invite list. Naama was a regular at HSC couple years back.
travel and hotel is not paid! Please only do participate if you can afford the flight and hotel to Krefeld, Germany.
Is it the first time its like that ?
Some HSC had travel support for one player, so the qualified players played once more in a single elimination bracket to find out who gets paid flights and hotel. Then some HSC payed trips for the winner of every qualifier, while the secound didnt get anything. And then some HSC didnt payed anything for any player.
But they allways announced that before the actual qualifiers and still there have been alot of qualified players, who won their qualifier and then declined coming. For example Maru and Polt. At somepoint, I think HSC 9, both NA qualified players declined to travel over.
Nothing has been said about invites and WCS points.

So yeah NarutO just restated that it was because Apoc was involved in matchfixing and he was unaware of this before the qualifier. E: Meanwhile, aLive continues looking competent in LotV.
I'm trying to update Liquipedia but there's no scores
hmm that sucks
edit: Naruto just said, he doesnt know the scores either, he just knows who won. So all games are played Bo3s, but only winner is announced. I think you will have to go with 2:X for allmost all games and only have correct results for the casted games.

There isn't any info. NarutO messed up the settings of the bracket so the results aren't recorded and I assume the players are probably not reporting them to him.
I'm kinda surprised to see FanTaSy in this, I thought he would be invited. Makes me wonder who the Korean invites are. Parting for sure I guess? Maybe FlaSh? He loved it last year I think.

I would expect arround 8 koreans like last time.

I think the mYi guys (Rain and Sacsri), as they are Runner-Up and Winner of last time. PartinG as the korean god of party and fun. Jaedong (He travels on EG money)
I hoped for Patience and Fantasy, but both have been in the qualifier.
Maybe again Gumi-God?
But many more. Remember that they only invite people who pay for their flights. So if a team says "sorry, not 2k $ for a party weekend in germany for you", then they cant invite them.
I expect that some of the players in this qualifier could also get a invite. Who plays in that qualifier, would pay for his flight, so maybe invite ByuN for the ByuN offline hype?

Yeah, I mean FlaSh was there last year and I think the he liked it a lot. The only reason he was not at HSCXI was because so much was going on in Korea with Proleague and stuff. KT has the money for sure .

I think 7 armor Ultras would already make the game much better than 8 armor ultras. It would double the damage marines can do and I think Ultras would still be good enough. It's kinda silly that they are invulnerable as soon as there are no ghosts or Liberators. And I'm a zerg player .

Yeah. The damage of anything but snipe, liberation zones and yamato cannons is completely laughable vs 8 armor ultras.

There's a difference between terrifying and fucking invicible. Especially on lower levels. You can expect the Zerg to get upgraded ultras and a-move them but you can't expect low league Terrans to micro (or even get them in the first place) ghosts, liberators and stimmed bio so they don't die to the ultras.

I agree, but I think a 7 armor ultra would still have that effect.
So if I understand correctly the ultras take 4 times less damage from marines? How much less by rauders?
I felt hopeless vs ultra except when massively ahead economically, good to know that ghosts damage them as well (I know for liberator but on the middle of the map they can go around and it's not.practical.having to lock an.area each time).
I am on my phone so hard to look.everywhere, is ByuN still in the qualifier? I liked him a lot on Prime@WoL, it's cool to see him back, is there a link to the bracket? I'll try to look at the 1st page. Edit: found the challonge link, no liquidpedia link? What is ByuN nickname I don't find him.

Because marauders fire twice for 10 each in LotV instead of once for 20, the 8 armor is applied twice, so they take a 3rd of what they would have taken against HotS rauders..
Low numbers of ultras are still manageable with bio (up to 3-4) if there aren't a gazillion banelings rolling with them. But if the zergs gets like 8 ultras, then it's lights out for the terran.
To be honest, I kinda like that "final boss" vibe from the nearly unkillable ultras as well, even as a terran. However, I sometimes wish zergs wouldn't be able to afford as many ultras as they do ^^
I think in Pro-Games, the 8 Armor-Ultras are not a problem. With Ghost and Lib, the Terran has the tools for high single-target-damage. You can also use the Bio Leftover to constant pressure Zerg expansion either to buy time to get more Ghosts-Libs or to force the zerg into an uncomfortable engagement.
But on lower leagues... yeah the Zerg gets his ultras via tech and a- moves them into something not very choky and mostlikely wins, while the terran has to do more to counter.
ByuN is slaying through the lower bracket like a mad man. He wants this regame.

Yeah I don't think there is a problem just that since I did not read enough about the changes nor played LotV, I produced marauders in order to deal with ultra and it felt really shitty against them despite good upgrades, I did not know how much shitty they were nor prepared the ghost tech so could not really adapt well on the fly but I knew there was some proper response I did not.know yet that would do the trick.
There are so many more changes from HotS>LotV than WoL>HotS that I expected standard comps with a bit of liberators to be sufficient haha.
Gogo ByuN I want to see you in the actual tournament :D.

Pretty much that yeah. I don't know him, but his play in HotS was boring, and he didn't look especially interesting during interviews/ceremonies. There were also no storylines, nothing.

I dunno. Sometimes you have that one guy who randomly decides "Hey, I got 500 bucks, I feel like using them for this" (maybe Aeromi can use some dirty O'gaming eSports money ). It would be worth a try. But as I said, the decision is with TakeTV. And also ByuN.

But It's funny to see flying roaches
Maybe Blizzard tried to please the MOBA community
It would be hilarious if you could drop units from maps like the last one. It looks like a flying platform, so if you could drop units(even for a full refund) it would add hilarious strength to reapers and it would be interesting.
(until the platform is no longer flying because the amount of dead Zerg made it into the highest mountain on the planet over which it was orbiting )
