TaeJa's played in quite a few Fight Night events over the last few months. Haven't had him in a LotV one yet, but if he wins vs Solar he'll qualify for the $500 Tournament of Champions next weekend, which will be LotV.

so hyped! I love every Fight Night that taeja is in! Hopefully there is a at least one tie game, so he continues the tradition of the Fight Night only having tie games with him around.

Excited for Hitman vs uThermal. By the way, NoRegret's name is Jake Umpleby, not Ryan Visbeck.

Haha yeah it is. We had State last event and our designer must have forgotten to switch that up. Don't know how that slipped by all of us. We'll be fixing it in the morning once our graphics guy (EU) wakes up to save the day.

All my fault...

Matches are going to be good.

Less than 24 hours away! Our $500 Tournament of Champions is next weekend, and it will be LotV. Let's see who can steal the final HotS win :D

Apologies for the mistake with the TL calendar. The event actually begins in 1 hour from now. Trying to get that fixed.

it'd be awesome if there was a big ass button for the stream, instead of having to go into a spoiler for it
|
i find it kind of sad that sc2 legends like taeja and solar have to duke it out for a mere benjamin franklin. its like watching old basketball players age, where they were once dominating the floors and doing dunk contests and buzzer beats against rival teams and making the crowd go crazy, and now they are just bench warmers. like, here, i know you guys are multiple time champions, and you guys have won 10s of thousands of dollars, but we'll offer you a whole HUNDRED DOLLARZ to play your best against eachother one more time. oh, and right after the biggest event of the year ends. go get em, tiger!
i wouldve even donated for prize money if it was open. this is almost insulting

Good idea, we'll add a big ass button for the stream link for future threads!

There is an open donation through our partner Matcherino. https://matcherino.com/bounties/starcraft-ii/2/khan-solar-vs-liquid-tae-ja/1512
You can add to their prize pool if you feel like they may be insulted.
We don't have thousands of dollars to give away every event, but these guys are still interested in playing. Hell, recently we had Reality reach out to us with his interest in playing, so we put him in last event. And since he won that main event, he is invited to our $500 4-man tournament next week to play against other main event winners.

I'm on my work laptop and mid-tier wifi but azubu is REALLY choppy for me and constantly tells me that scripts are breaking

Thanks for watching! TaeJa's played three times in Fight Night so far, but hasn't been able to win yet, looking forward to seeing him vs Solar today!

Hm, no issues on our end. Try adjusting stream quality if you haven't already.

I think it was more a response to the quick 2 base muta play from Solar. Since he went for hellbat + marine timing, he didn't have ebay/turrets up early enough. He used the vikings to zone out the mutas/buy time for a good turret defense. Although making 4 seemed a little excessive lol.

So how did the GOAT play?

On the other hand, Taeja's banshee micro was uncharacteristically bad too, so maybe he was just in some kind of funk, I don't know. Maybe he went to Blizzcon and had just gotten off the plane from LA?

taeja hasn't practised properly for almost a whole year. he kinda gave up after blizzcon 2014 and is semi-retired now, and it shows in his play unfortunately. he's still in my opinion the most naturally talented player to touch the game but that's not enough without also keeping up a practice routine.

Taeja's been in a funk for almost a year now, owing to him being basically retired.

Yeah unfortunately TaeJa didn't do too well, but if anybody missed the games we'll be uploading the VOD's here on Wednesday - https://www.youtube.com/user/TeamGravitySC2
YouTube VOD's are updated each week so feel free to follow to keep up with all the action.
Since Solar won, he'll be joining PartinG, BravO, and Reality in our $500 4 man Tournament of Champions this weekend. We'll be announcing the event soon.
