I mean I don't think anyone in that group can touch Rain (except maybe sexy boy if he has something special planned), so he gets the first spot. I'm not too confident in Bbyong's TvZ or TvP, so I'm thinking he'll proobably take last place. That leaves the second spot open between Dear and Rogue... I'd tend to favor Rogue slightly, but I really have no clue about the state of their PvZ/ZvP, so I don't have any certainties...

I was watching an old (2013) Rain match earlier today casted by Tastosis, Tasteless commented that Rain was the safe player, the best Protoss to copy ladder builds from, today he said almost the exact same thing, haha

16 kills. Rain got into Bbyong's main after that with Blink but couldn't do enough damage, and he still has widow mines in his main and natural, so he GG's out.
Base trade ends with protoss losing all his tech and stuck on 1 new base, terran with weaker army but tech still alive. Bbyong gets a tech lab on his starport and gets cloak and banshees. Rain didn't get detection up and lost his nexus to a suicide attack.
Dear will probably not make the same mistake that many protoss players have made lately, which is trying to take a third at ~8:00 and then lings overrun the base so easily. I hope he sticks to a good 2 base timing attack and transition into a third that way.

indeed, just go immortal all in and win after getting scouted.
Rogue teched too much, didn't he? He researched lair; roach speed, zerling speed and +1 against a forge-less immo-sentry all-in... Seems too much to me.

That's what I love about toss. Just go for a "push" to secure your third, but why not just win with the push?

Lair was important to get, otherwise zerg has no tech and protoss wins, but maybe don't upgrade +1 when you're getting busted...

All I remember from playing MGS1 is hiding in boxes. I remember all of the storylines from the FF's i've played.
It's totally fair for protoss to bust zerg just like that, why build infestors when you can build things like hydralisks that actually come out earlier and beat gateway armies?
On September 02 2015 20:04 gobbledydook wrote: It's totally fair for protoss to bust zerg just like that, why build infestors when you can build things like hydralisks that actually come out earlier and beat gateway armies?
it's true that you can go hydra and just try to outmacro/outposition a gateway army, but protoss can do that and then take a third and tech up pretty easily with the forcefield buffer whereas it's very very tricky for zerg to find the correct time to tech to hive. you really get pigeonholed into hydra/viper if protoss does any kind of pressure or threatening
not saying it's imba at all though, but i can see how people are bored by "protoss is poking with forcefields and mothership core, better build hydras" almost every game when it would be more interesting for the viewer to see infestor based play be a little more stable

Think Artosis analysing it perfectly. You scout 3 gates, kill that amount of probes you make a 2nd or even a 3rd bunker. And sit and lol at Protoss trying to attack you whilst churning out bio units. Pretty dumb to have 3 marines in 1 bunker and to make a 3rd cc xD
He should have walked one mine into the drone retreat path, and then fly in with the medivac over the drone line and drop the rest. would have killed most of the drones in a single hit.
Now he just flew in and hoped that dear wouldnt react in time.
On September 02 2015 20:35 WrathSCII wrote: I can't watch the game, how did BByong throw?
Dear makes 3 gates, and robo expand. Goes to make 6 stalker and 2 obs to go attack and leave 1 obs to defend with MSC at home. Drop comes from Bbyong standar mine drop opening. Mines drop first two mines do nothing, 3rd mine some how gets 16 kills off screen. Dear then just warps in more units and just says ok im coming for the front door of the natural.
He is greeted by just 1 bunker with 3 marines in whilst making a 3rd CC xD

It's a mix of desperate all in, silliness and slow reactions from Bbyong AND dumb luck
Basically just the kind of game that widow mines make happen
Which is why I dislike this Terran heavy-WM-drop style. It's almost like a game of two boxers taking turns punching each other once at a time, and seeing who knocks out the other first. There's no way Protoss can defend whole game (playing super safe will allow Terran to outmacro you), and forces Protoss to try an all-in and go super aggressive (which murders the Terran due to lack of defence). Essentially, it just forces players to give up on defence and go YOLO.

Well it is something you practice. I speak Afrikaans natively so my R sounded very harsh when I spoke English when I was younger whereas it is more silent when spoken correctly but it got better as I consciously worked on it.

True, sponsors want their names to be put out there and be exposed so that viewers would be enticed to pay for their products/services, but what percentage of that money goes directly to the player?

Yes, in the end all the money comes from the viewers in some fashion, and yes, it is important for the scene that the games are fun. But I don't think that players should deliberately pick "fun" builds over another build that they think is more likely to win. It just wouldn't make any sense with all the price money etc, and I don't think it'd be fun for the viewers either, knowing that the players could have done better.
Then we should hate the game instead of the gamer.
Bbyong should just leave this greedy turtle mech style and play his usual aggressive mech where he makes like 20 banshees and does 2 base timings hellbat/thor with SCV pulls
For those of you with only passion enough for one game - Mechwarper is a cheap mech minion that makes other mech minions cheaper. So if left untouched, games spiral out of control very quickly.

It has siege tanks which means positioning. Real mech is forced to turtle. Ofc it's boring as fuck, but that's what mech is. Vultures is just the sprinkle.
I like to see it in this manner: If player A is off point, isn't it possible that the way player B is playing is making player A tend towards being off point?

Glad Dear is eking back into the spotlight after his disastrous foreign hiatus. Nothing like a comeback story.
