Ho wow, team flairs are back !
Regarding the group: no terran, so I don't really care what happens. I wouldn't mind any combination of players advancing. Between Rain and herO, i.e. the "good guys", the sexy boy Rogue or the villain Myunsick, there are storylines for all players. I just hope for good games !

I dunno why Rogue is trying this. 2base spire is not really a good build vs protoss - and the regular answer to 2base zerg tech is stargate.

Hydralisks are being made now.
Rain's army is 14ish blink stalkers + 5 phoenixes + 6 sentries.
A few zerglings get into Rain's main and pick off a probe.
13:00 Rain 106 vs Rogue 141
Rogue has a healthy 64 drones now.
Phoenixes battle mutalisks in the bottom half of the map while Rain attacks Rogue's third.
Rain kills a few mutalisks and brings his phoenixes with his army.
Mutalisks stay behind to do economic damage.
Rogue loses the third.
Rain starts warping in defensively and backing off.
Rogue gets a big flank on Rain's army and destroys it.
Rain GG's!
Rogue takes the first map!

That's why the all in didn't make sense. He can almost completely skip cannons as long as the phoenixes OR stalkers stay home. But with the attack he leaves his mineral lines open.

for some time the backdoor spine rush was very popular on this map. And TvZ is strongly in zerg favor.
ZvP is pretty much balanced on it. Protoss timings are insane, but the third is hard for them.

Securing a base above your enemy isn't all you need to do. You need the time so the sacrifice you made(workers, base) is paid and you can use the kick in the economy for units. Rogue wasn't given the time he needed. IMO

Parting/herO both can play macro, but they do that with the grace of perfect micro so it looks excellent(and abusive at the same time ). Rain strength is not micro thus his play looks like a boring a-move style. Basically he's a GumiHo of Protoss

I think people are in general a little tired of Protoss's many options in the game. Almost all tech paths seem viable and its really hard to punish them at the very top level when they mess up

I like his playstyle. But last game was a start-end victory of a failed 8pool. And the game before was from the great book. It hardly gets stupider than prism/sentry allin into blink allin into colossus allin on two bases.

I like Rogue and i prefer Z>P everytime, but Rain is one of those players that i like to see win, because he understands the game so well, knows how to adjust. Not a one dimensional players like Parting (His games are also exciting but in a different way).
Rain is the definition of a solid player, can allin, adjusts, plays the longer game also, makes few mistakes, very good micro.. he has it all

There is absolutely no reason why Myungsik should be allowed to have that nexus. Sentry at the top of the ramp basically wins the game for herO and he should know that Myungsik had no followup tech behind the attack.

That's what you do in PvP every time though. The third nexus stays empty until the opponent takes theirs, otherwise you die. Doesn't mean that it doesn't still have a massive impact on the game. Just the fact that it exists puts Myungsik on a timer.

I think that was his idea after not being able to kill the nexus. I don't agree with it though, not when you're down 2 upgrades without the forge even being done. There is no macroing out of it, you just die. He had one super tiny window to do damage and didn't commit to it.

Yeah, but upgrades are less important than a good fight and it's really hard to fight with a colossus deficit when it's close your base.

I think with better positioning and MSC use, Myungsik could have gotten the nexus. He had to, he was completely all in. Not sure why he didn't commit to it. The nexus was empty of Probes anyway so it was 2 base vs 2 base, I think he was looking for an army wipe into win. Rather than risk losing a fight because he dove the nexus. That's what you do in PvP every time though. The third nexus stays empty until the opponent takes theirs, otherwise you die. Doesn't mean that it doesn't still have a massive impact on the game. Just the fact that it exists puts Myungsik on a timer. Yeah, but he was getting up his own third so I guess he pressures to make sure Hero can't probe until they are on even footing. I think that was his idea after not being able to kill the nexus. I don't agree with it though, not when you're down 2 upgrades without the forge even being done. Yeah, but upgrades are less important than a good fight and it's really hard to fight with a colossus deficit when it's close your base.
I don't really agree with that. With 2 attack upgrades ahead and a similar (in herO's case even ahead) colossus count, you can take an awful fight and will still win pretty much every time.

BUT those should be shield upgrades imo. Archons are your lategame tanking units, they don't profit from armor.

Moving up the ramp achieved nothing. It only gave him terrible positioning by default. He probably should have recalled to his other nexus for a better fighting position, that's how terrible his positioning was.

He would have been forced into a bad spot either way. If he sets up a concave, or even fights in the third base, he'd be fighting before 3/1 upgrades kicked in (with a colossus deficit as well!) => that's almost a certain loss. He just backed off into the natural to wait for his upgrades because Myungsik can't move up there.
Was a lose-lose scenario for herO really

I don't know what's with the Rain hate. Yes, he might not play as flashy as Parting, but that's because he plays to win and understands the game better. There is beauty in his defence. There is depth in his builds and decisions. His dismantling of Maru in the last GSL was superb. He knows how to throw in the occasional cheese now more than before, which makes him even more solid all run and effective.
Watching Rain is like watching Germany win the last World Cup. Not as exciting and breath-taking as some of the South American teams, but they were efficient, well-balanced, worthy winners, and yes, a joy to watch.
(Yes, Germany decades ago used to play boring football - just like Rain did. But the new Germany is like the new Rain - solid from back to front.)

As a Rain fan, I have to agree that while boring and Rain's style are more or less suited for each other. He should take some credit for changing and going into uncharted waters (new styles, builds etc), and it is slightly more interesting!!!
