He's good mechanics, granted. But at least to me, he's no water whatsoever. He just plays standard, with flawless control, and incredible macro, for sure. But he lacks... flavour perhaps? Identity? idk, but there is something... tasteless about taeja. e

2:00 Barracks/gas for TaeJa. viOLet going spawning pool first.
3:00 Reaper is followed by a reactor. Zerglings going towards TaeJa's base
4:00 TaeJa keeps his reaper close to home. Reaper catches the zerglings. TaeJa pulls SCVs and loses two. Factory for TaeJa.
5:00 Third CC for TaeJa. Two extractors for viOLet. Two hellions on the way.

Taeja is the ultimate standard macro terran. He is what people expect Flash to be

I remember him flying a factory towards his opponent to then land it and use it as a wall before anyone else...

Stop blasphemy. Might get you to prison in some countries.

If I didn't know better, I would think viOLet was part of TSL once

Today pachi told me that Flash is boring to watch because he always opens the same. I disagree.

his tvp is special (super passive until he gets his max) but his other mu are textbook play. (he's exceptionnal at bio vs mech too, but he plays it fairly standard)

Water is standard as fuck. The second any violet clash ends,it goes back to its normal state. It only changes when its forced to. Examples:
Taeja vs Innovation Taeja vs Zest g3 yesterday Taeja vs Yonghwa Taeja vs Seed
What do all these 4 games have in common? When Taeja was forced to excel, when he was fighting the best in the world during their primes, he dragged them all to hell. He forced them into positions where it wasn't micro or macro or mechanics that won him the game. It was his better decision making, his better defense, his better game sense.

Taeja is like a guy in a party trying to stay unnoticed, then suddenly, he's got the hottest chick on it.
But, he lacks the aura who defines legends (at least to me). You saw Innovation at his height, and the guy had an aura of invincibility, like a damn machine. Taeja simply has no aura, he just wins and that is all.

Has Taeja just not played against 1/1 Roach style? It's not like its rare at the moment

This game is looking like a repeat of the last one. Come on Taeja, pull it together.
