I really like that, it would help limit the amount of maps where you can double overcharge depending on the main/nat distance.

That's a poor idea that has been proposed before. Basically what would happen is that the mothership core would cast photon overcharge, and since it can't leave would get killed by the marines and the base would just die. Terran nexus snipes during the midgame are fairly effective as is.

Why would you nerf the mothership core? It's useful only in the early-mid game, which are already the stages where terran has the higher winrate, most likely higher than 50% too. Protoss wins most of the times only in the lategame, although scv pulls are so popular (precisely for this reason) that we don't even see those kind of games anymore.

I'm sure there are spots on the map in a base where the mothership core could be within a radius of the nexus AND not in marines range. Or at least make them have to micro the mothership core to prevent it from getting killed by said marines. Would just need to tweak the radius so its actually relevant while not being too tight to the nexus

It is useful throughout the game because it prevents the opponent from getting the funny idea to basetrade, alone having not to worry about that makes it useful in the lategame. Oh and Terrans are pissed about the MsC preventing like 90% of their early game stuff, so Protoss can't be slowed down on the path to the perfect composition. So the hate against this unit is understandable :p

Why would you need to recall or overcharge in split map situations vs terran? It's not like you build nexus in the middle of the map and you can afford hts and cannons in all your expansions to defend from drop. Also, it gets sniped everytime by vikings or EMP'd by ghosts.
I was suggesting that what breaks PvT is the lategame, not the early/mid game.

i think the msc is ok but terran should have some more early versatility to make the MU interesting
