Both zerg and terran get rolled in straight up fights against protoss. We can't roach/hydra/viper our way to win the game. All it takes is 1 phoenix scout and a few templars and the protoss can easily hold. Once he has enough army he can just roll over us.
That's why everyone goes swarm hosts or muta basetrade nowdays.. and even then it's really really hard. 6 terrans 1 protoss 1 zerg in the ro8, almost all zergs lost to protoss in the group stage.

I was about to say that I think ForGG could have done a bit better by getting WM against toss that game. They don't really care about upgrade differences, they are relatively cheep and fast to produce, they move as fast as bio and they allow you to cost efficiently clear/weaken the zealots so your bio can get to the core of the toss army and destroy it.

Yes upgrades matter, especially such a huge upgrade difference. fun facts. It's never pure imo vs marau so your math is useless. Zealots are also a lot tankier, especially vs marines because each armor upgrade difference reduces marine damage by 1/6, with 2 upgrade difference they where 1/3 less effective. Believe me, my math is far from useless, it further proves that upgrades are really, really fucking good.
armor upgrade is not that good, especially against huge numbers where it's worthless. your hypothetical situation is just dumb and worthless (1. There are other units that deal dmg, 2marau stim and lose 10hp, 3 medivacs heal). Armor upgrades are way better vs colo (you're supposed to kite zeal) since they've a relatively low *2 attack.
And ofc upgrades are great, ppl know that for almost 4years now but your argument is irrevelant. You claim like you made a discovery that was made in early wol, pretty amusing.

Wtf about what I said was hypothetical, we just saw ForGG get destroyed last game because of a 4 upgrade difference despite being up massively in supply. There is nothing hypothetical about your army dying too fast because toss units have so much damage from the upgrade differences or the fact that your army does too little damage to theirs to clear it in time, again due to the upgrade differences.
