It's the +Roccat bit I have a problem with there. Bunch of teamless players form a clan? Alright I can get behind that. Bunch of teamless players form a clan then partner with an actual team? Ermm no, that's not a thing and the whole management agency thing is nonsense as well. Same with XMG. You can't partner with a team that doesn't exist. The way this should have been done imho is to specify that a partnership must include a team consisting of X minimum players of which Y minimum players must participate. Don't get me started on Empire partnering with Fnatic and bringing Fnatic into the league without Fnatic actually having to qualify. That's not the same team that played last season, not even close, they should have had to requalify at that point. GEM looks like a team, works like a team and plays like a team. I call it a team. A management group is not a team. Bounty Hunters you can argue are a team, GEM is not. Bounty Hunters + HyuN = Bounty Hunters + Joker imho. Partnering with teams for just one player is not ok and definitely fits the Joker rule from last year.

I guess nobody at TaKeTV took player agencies into account when doing the rulebook What's the difference between the Joker and Cooperation rule in the rulebook? I agree that the Bounty Hunter team is silly, but Vega-RoX and XMG-CSA (Violet being a mercenary so I can see that as a violation) is just two groups no? Sorry for asking so many questions, I'm just curious. Edit: Thanks guys. That makes sense now.

Basically why everyone was upset is the player agency nonsense

Sorry for asking so many questions, I'm just curious. The difference is taking two rosters and merging them vs cherry-picking from a roster. Jokers are effectively ringers at that point, plus it causes a bunch of problems when those players can't play in the finals (see Western Wolves getting slaughtered because their Joker San couldn't participate). I really think there should either be a minimum quota of players from the other team you have to field or some other requirement that ensures relatively even participation. If I suddenly announced Axiom-KT and all I did was pay Zest to come and stomp on people, would people be ok with that? They shouldn't be, that's not a partnership, that's hiring a mercenary to do your heavy lifting.

If you're going to be getting a single player to all-kill for your team do it like Liquid and actually pay the guy.
