Phoenix do huge dps even without a kite-fest.
It might have worked, but he'd have lost his whole muta-flock, and if 1 or 2 collosi remained, it was game over.

Not sure what you're referring to, but tempo is a dota/moba term for being able to control the pacing of the game.

if one player decides to be the aggressor he sets the tempo for the game. One player is the one doing stuff (attacking, dropping, transitioning to a unit that needs a specific counter from the other player) and the other player is the one reacting to what his opponent does. So one player controls the tempo of the game, the other has to react.

I think he is referring to the fact that Wolf in particular, but also a couple of others, have started using the word tempo when describing the state of a player in a game.
And yeah that's basically the description, tempo is dictating the pace of the game, a "tempo" based build is designed to put you in the driver's seat, to let you get stuff done, all races have builds sort of like that and all races can also play reactionary where they just sit back for a while.

Kind of a bit of both, the zealots chipped away at that gold base for a long time, but based on the runby at the 3rd, the voids/prism in the main - and the gold base, I think he did well!

It just seemed to me like there were times that could have resulted in a better fight or less losses to harassment. That big fight near the end where he lost almost his entire army, for example, he didn't fungal any of sOs' units until they were right on top of his units and killing them all off. I dunno, I'm only a silver league player myself so it could just be my terrible game knowledge.

Yeah, always wondering if this is a trap, or an actual attack.
He set him up with the huge zealot warp in on the roaches, made him micro, then moved in with the vrays

everybody going for the polt-style nowadays. It's a really good opening though, you can defend any all-in if you scout correctly and you can also just immediately kill a Protoss if he isn't careful with his first few units.

It was only 3 colossus, no HT, no storm and a mass of chargelots and some archons. Once the colossus dies then the rest of the army is shit, ghosts EMP the archons and then they blow up while also contributing significant DPS against zealots. Like how the fuck is it acceptable that late into the game to not have storm or double robo?

If I lead 1-0 in football and score an own goal last minute - the opponent didn't do anything but not lose and still got a draw. YongHwa made nothing out of his advantage, ofcourse over time he lost it because his composition got worse.

He was actually doing a great job all game at protecting them and sniping the vikings... but he just kept letting him build them back up.
A warp prism with some zealots in the main, and then just attack that natural/3rd area and all wouldve been peachy.

Getting a lot of stalkers that late into the game is suicide, though. They have some of if not the absolute worst upgrade scaling in the game, 3/3 marauders will just eat them.

His Stalker count was fine, it's just he didn't build enough gas AoE units along. Blink Stalkers still have great utility by lategame to snipe Ghosts being a bit too forward, target Vikings or snipe retreating Medivacs/troops. He didn't overmake them, he had less than 10.

Yeah thx for the play-by-play but I was watching too... I still don't like these builds, I think it's an overreaction to the strength of new mines to not go templar first. Then again maybe it's Yonghwa dependant, if Wolf was right about his dislike to storm in general.

I don't agree. If Yonghwa watched Dear vs Maru on Frost, where Dear even had a hidden third base but still couldn't keep up with Maru's WM play, I doubt Yonghwa could defend. So I think that going for colossus first followed by chargelots was actually a great response by Yonghwa. He was ahead at that time. It is not like opening colossus put him behind compared to opening with templar tech.
His biggest mistakes were made after he already had a lead so you can't really blame it on the build.

Not when you have 10 Spines at every base, Spines also don't cost supply so if you want to have big Zealot attack, you will need to have less supply in your main army unlike Zerg, and Spines will buy him just enough time for Queens/Infestors/Swarm Hosts to come back and defend the base.
It is pretty difficult to win as a Protoss when the game comes to this stage.

EG-TL's players wore 2 different jerseys so I presume that Proleague does not mind a team having different jerseys. It's probably IM wanting their sponsors to have more exposure and hence requiring players who want to play for their team to wear their jersey.

Stats was able to do it. So I think Protoss CAN out turtle Swarmhost. Of course, it also depends how they come out of the mid game and the map. Like with mech vs swarmhost, protoss can get enough AoE so that swarmhosts do 0 damage.

That is correct. You need enough power to kill the locusts before they can do any real damage, and a shitload of tempests. Then, the only way the zerg can play would be to try and abduct your units while minimizing losses to tempests
For every tempest/mothership of stats that was abducted by effort, stats' tempests managed to kill more than 2-3 corrupters. A tempest is worth 2 corrupters, and a mothership just slightly less than 3. So you need to kill that amount in order to break even.
HerO had too many VRs that weren't very useful, and had 82 probes which meant that his army was smaller than it should be. An unusually high worker count works well in a situation where you constantly trade armies as the opponent cannot leverage on his bigger maxed out army. But in that war of attrition, it actually became a disadvantage.

With enough spines and spores it becomes impossible for protoss. Effort didn't have enough static d in order to win
