I dont know how to explain it, but it's just such a horrible feeling and you dont feel like there's any outlet for it. You've never lost something you worked hard for huh? It's dark as fuck when you do. I have lost tennis matches when my profession was tennis. It happened all the time. Tournaments that I trained night and day for. I did so all the way until injury forced me out of the professional scene. I never once thought "I should quit tennis" after losing. Even after traveling and losing in the first round after just playing an off day, as a professional, you realize the situations you can get I to, and you adapt to it appropriately. You quit if you have to (can't support your career/get injured/etc), not out of a lack of motivation due to a single loss. Ofc there are several factors, including career that he's thinking of, but that's just my 2 cents. A person needs to have their resolves. If you do something, do it! There's no time to cry until after it's over. It's not over for HerO (unless there are things in the back going on).

And different people handle things differently. I think it would be a bigger issue if he posted this 2 weeks down the road. But right now, he is just venting his frustration. You see sports players cry all the time after loses in championship games (and wins as well). It isn't like they are depress about their life or anything like that. Just takes some time to unwind for some people.
