They don't have the 3k season finals anymore. Hero gets sent to every event so it's really not that hard for him to get the necessarily points for Blizzcon unless he goes into some major slump.

The most points anyone got last year (outside of any WCS events) was Jaedong with 1350 points for the whole year. The cutoff for making Blizzcon was 3200. You NEED a significant amount of points from WCS to make Blizzcon. I'm not saying he's not gonna make it, I'm just saying he can't make it without WCS

I'd say its very doable for a player like Hero.

There's going to be very few "Tier 1" non-wcs events just based on the fact that IEM Cologne was considered tier 2. Probably IEM Katowice and possibly DH summer but other than that I can't see tourneys that are bigger than a standard IEM. The chances of him winning either of those is rather low, not because he's bad or anything just they are always so stacked

I'm not saying 750 is gonna guarantee Hero in, but it's not doom and gloom.

There isn't any season finals which gave tons of points last year. Take away that and the points needed for Blizzcon drops dramatically. Alive had 3625 points but 2000 (1000+1000) from season finals so he would have had 1625. The cut-off will likely be closer to the 2000 range. So I think if you don't get any WCS points, you will need 2 1st or 1 1st and 2 seconds.
