jesus this format is hardcore. code A is the most cutthroat ever. top 2 -> code S , bottom 2 -> code B, big difference.

I personally like it better than the AM and EU. Right now for them it's just 1 bo5. winner goes to Premier and loser to qualifiers. At least with a group you can't get screwed over as easily by 1 tough opponent or weak matchup

How about Polt? I'm super-biased and think it's amazing. Polt was the first one going marauder heavy style that you see taeja and maru employ. Am I correct in that?

TLPD shows 70% TvP winrate for Polt.

cant ever count Polt out but he hasnt looked to good against the better P players. I think even Polt will suffer after being away from a proper training enviroment for so long.

Polt said he sleeps 3 hours a day so he can keep up with sc2.

Nooooo. That can't ever be good (((

It's okay, he says he relaxes by working part-time o_0?????????????

Wow, Polt is insane 0_0

it's actually not a bad idea for him. It would increase his stamina even more although with only 3 hr of sleep(if true), he'll likely crash soon enough and believe me, won't be able to stay up for a while.

I recall jaedong saying he would only get 4 hours of sleep for years because he was always practicing.

My father is the same, actually, always gets up before everyone else and goes to bed later. He says that he would sleep for not more than 6 hours a day for like two decades. (of course, he's chronically tired without sleep these days, so he's definitely started moderating) You can go a long time before you really crash&burn though.

I don't know if being tired makes for efficient practice though.

6 hours is reasonable though. Heck, I've survived on 5 hrs for weeks on end and can still function and such and ya, crash&burn can take a while(other factors play a role, not just sleep) but being tired constantly is just not good for the body.

It's certainly possible to get by with 3 hours of sleep on an average night (with more some nights). Probably not healthy in the long run, but he was pretty clear about his sleep - or rather the lack of it. I don't see any reason for him to lie about it, really, and I don't think he would.

Yeah.. Flash is officially screwed. He does well in prepared matches but when he doesn't prepare for a specific opponent he seems to get crushed. Maybe thats why he never made it far in Code S?

Now that Code A is just Up/Down matches this may be the end of Flash in the GSL.

Want to know something cool? At the moment Code S looks like this:

10 Protoss
6 Zerg
1 Terran

Hopefully a few more terrans can push through!

Maybe in the short term but not long term. Don't forget Polt travels so the jet lag only makes things worse because his circadian rhythm and sleep sucks are messed up.

I think it's safe to say that there isn't going to be anyone called "BravoDagger" any time soon.

Isn't he just named "BisuDagger" because Bisu means Dagger? I think I remember somethnig like that.

Correct! I just meant that Bravo doesn't inspire fandom like Bisu's beautiful visage.

Poor Bravo

It's hard to be inspired when you have this to compare too...

I don't know if Maru is very reliable in TvP, it's just that he's currently on a winning streak, so he looks undefeatable.

Also, people should shut up about "Flash was never good in SC2". Flash losing to Yonghwa and Bravo = slump, these are players he would have been strongly favored against half a year ago. Personally I had figured that after his abominable performances in the second half of 2013 he would have returned to form by now and qualify for GSL Code S and be dominant in proleague, but it seems not. I don't have a window into Flash's mind anyway, so no idea how he is feeling about the game these days. His play seems lacking in confidence though, it's not like the Flash of old.

those are either trolls or don't have a clue, flash was consistently in ro16, which is better than every other terran besides maru and bogus. People make fun of him because of unnecessary overhype but realistically he's a force to reckon with.

Bomber made it to the ro8 twice and won season 2 finals, I would put that aboce ro16 3times. And other terrans playing international, such as Taeja (who made it to 9 premier semifnals, winning 5 tournaments), Polt (2x WCS NA champion) and MMA (during the second half of the year, not during the first[WCS runs, DHacks]). I´m not saying he is not good, he is a former three times Code S ro16 player and MLG finalist, it is obvious, that he can play the game, but people hyped him as one of the top 3 players (according to power rank) in the world at times, which was simply wrong.

If you train your body by slowly cutting down sleep and following an exact schedule, I'm pretty sure it's possible to go like 6 hours of being awake and then 30 min of sleep per day, because your body will tighten it's sleep cycle (the "deep sleep" that actually rests you, most people need like 5 hours of sleep for 1 hour of deep sleep) and you'll be fully rested after that 30 min

To add on, you're talking about polyphasic sleep where you sleep smaller amounts instead of the usual one large one to end up with more time awake.

The US military and others have experimented with polyphasic sleep but realized that it's not possible or rather the kind you are talking about is not possible:

Yes, you need to go into REM to feel rested and you go into it directly from a nap but you can't just do 2 hr of napping a day(30minx4) every 5.5 hr or so(had to deduct the 30min from 6hr). It's just not possible because you'll eventually end up passing out. This was a subject that interested me for a long time but after much reading about experiences and such, I realized that it's not possible to do it. Polt is fine now but when he gets older, he's going to feel it pretty badly. Either way, this is getting long lol. I can write a lot more but it's good for now
