it's a bit hard for me to judge when i'm seeing a kpop video rather than a starcraft game. it's definitely not as bad as the old old GSL free stream where you had to guess what those 3 pixels were trying to show you, but it doesn't seem great. for some reason this video looks better, maybe the other one just had kind of blurry effects in it? i don't know. will report when the games start.

GOM's said they're planning other events outside of GSL now that WCS is no longer taking up all the time slots, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was GOMeXP content on every month.

Partially. I don't know how they do their starcraft numbers, but in normal sports betting the books to a fuckton of research for their lines; because they have to set an opening line. After it's posted it gets adjusted depending on how people are betting on it, but they have to set an opening line and if that line isn't perfect, people will bet all their money to exploit it. The opening line is a representation of how the book expexts the game to end and how they expect people to bet and later on the actual behavior of people is factored in as well, but at no point is the line the 1:1 representation of the book's prediction or the bets that have been made.

Dear is way more convincing in PvT than sOs ever was. Going proxy oracle in almost every game is not my idea of best PvT.
Dear managed to 3-1 Taeja and Maru who are both very strong and aggressive players.

Getting an overlord close to pylon to allow you to spot amount of zealots is also effective. He'll probably not even warp in stalkers to kill it.

13 gate, 14 gas, zealot, cut probes at 20 (do 3 chronos then rest on warpgate), warpgate, nexus, mocore, pylon at nat, 3 gates walling nat, move out and rally sentry from main gate to nat. Warp in 1-2 rounds of zealots from a proxy pylon and go.
Best counter is to not take a third, hold with a few sunkens and tech faster. Hydras go really well vs a slow tech toss

I dislike the notion that Tasteless has to watch every game of Starcraft. He's not working today, he can do what he wants ^.-
He can watch the best half of the games. Like watching the game on whirlwind as a caster wont make you a better caster.

He can also just watch the vods or whatever, haha. I think it's pretty clear that this event is supposed to be different casters on different days, they have done so previously as well. It's not like Tasteless is just "skipping" casting.

Overall most casters do so much better at big live events than in studio/at home. Tastosis are the ones that improve the most imo.

I watched all of both player's games in the last couple of months and i've never seen that particular opener by them. That made me sad, seeing roro target 1 voidray then another void ray then a warp prism then back to a void ray without killing any of them. Had he stayed on that 1 voidray it would have gone down much sooner. Then the roaches would have lived a little longer and slowed/denied the zealots.

So sick. We'll be seeing either the best protoss in the world in Dear vs either one of the best Zerg in the world or one of the best Terran in the world. Both the Z and T being easily top 3 of their race. Only others being Life, Jaedong and Taeja, Innovation.
Even if we see Rain progress, while I might not consider him top3.... he damn sure may be. And if he can take down Dear he absolutely shows a lot in terms of his level of PvP.... even if it is a tricky matchup.

I mean Symbol might not be very good today but he showed great games at the end of WoL. I didn't enjoy it while it happened, like everyone else, but I don't see why we should undermine what he did based on what he does. Just because his race was strong doesn't mean his achievements aren't great. Out of all the zergs, he was still the one who was there to achieve them.

You have no clue. He just went toe to toe with Taeja @HSC ffs (who destroyed Life). And his mechanics are actually pretty good (at the HOTS release he kept himself in Code S while Life, Leenock and DRG all fall out). He also was the only Zerg with Soulkey to reach the quaterfinals of season 2 WCS KR.
Granted he doesn't seem in the best shape at the moment but he's still one of the very best Zerg out there.

Ok, just to make sure we're clear here, I'm arguing about symbol having a strong legacy and the fact that there was a very good reason for him to be hyped at the beginning of HoTS. If you understand that but still think that symbol is a one trick cheesy pony with mediocre mechanics and late game to back it up, than I suggest you watch Iron Squid I, 2012 GSTL II and the GSLs around that period.

LOL. If there is one thing that I remember, that's Symbol roach rushing MKP 3 times in a row at Iron Squid I. Not a very good souvenir . But he promptly lost to MMA, so that makes up for it I guess.
In all seriousness though: yes, Symbol is good, I'll give you that. But I find it natural that he gets demolished by Rain (especially in a metagame momentum I would consider favorable to Protoss), it doesn't surprise me in the slightest, and sorry if you all disagree. I've been following SC2 for a pretty long time, so it's useless to just quote Symbol's Liquipedia page, I'm aware of his achievements :D

When he was on TSL all TSL zergs could make crazy and unique builds to win it was so fun to watch and Symbol along with HyuN had a great success with such crazy builds (roach drops, nyduses for expanding, hydra, roach based builds in WoL) and this made Symbol very popular but in HotS and now when he is on AZUBU he can not surprise and play with such style that is why people start to kinda stop liking him as they have done.
And people stop saying this Top and best in the world things it does not say anything at all. I know 50+ players in Korea that can win anyone.

I'm a pretty big Symbol fan, but I won't jump on the train of giving you shit for your opinions on Symbol. Do I think he's a top 5 Zerg? Probably. Do I think he's as good as Soulkey? Hell no. First off he's a very different player. Symbol sure loves his roaches, in all three matchups. People not liking his style is valid. I think his mechanics really are excellent, but he doesn't show it as much with the muta/ling/bane style (when he does it is actually damn good).

It's was just a note on the fact that every balance issue in SC2 was initially blamed on players just doing it wrong or being bad, even when the game was blatantly broken. When this is always used as an excuse or a way to discredit a player after a loss, we end up with a situation where, according to the community, every single player is just empty hype.

RorO vs Dear game 3 and it was nice from RorO after he lost game 1 he read his opponent and won game 2 with a counter strategy it was cute from strategic point of view and game 3 was the best on this day for me.

He just went toe to toe with Taeja @HSC ffs (who destroyed Life). And his mechanics are actually pretty good (at the HOTS release he kept himself in Code S while Life, Leenock and DRG all fall out). He also was the only Zerg with Soulkey to reach the quaterfinals of season 2 WCS KR. Granted he doesn't seem in the best shape at the moment but he's still one of the very best Zerg out there. Thank you for enlightening me. I'll be sure to like his playstyle in the future.

wtf Taeja didn't destroy life. Honestly Life had a couple of games in a really good position then he dun goofed at a part, but in no way did taeja "destroy" him.
