I don't know how they do their starcraft numbers, but in normal sports betting the books to a fuckton of research for their lines; because they have to set an opening line. After it's posted it gets adjusted depending on how people are betting on it, but they have to set an opening line and if that line isn't perfect, people will bet all their money to exploit it. The opening line is a representation of how the book expexts the game to end and how they expect people to bet and later on the actual behavior of people is factored in as well, but at no point is the line the 1:1 representation of the book's prediction or the bets that have been made. | ||
