Why anyone would voluntarily watch ads is beyond me.
Why anyone would voluntarily watch a countdown is beyond me. Seriously ads take ~60sec and you can help them (some ads a pretty funny).
I don't watch ads when I'm watching television (I just switch channels) and I hate seeing ads allover websites, so I just block them.
Oh this is possible in Belgium? Here in Germany, ads appears at the same time at every channel.
They try to allign them as well, but to be honest, I barely watch 15 minutes of TV per month. It's either switching channels or stretching my legs. No way I'm going to spend time watching commercials for things I'm not going to buy.
I don't see the logic in ever turning off ad-block. Ads are among the most annoying things on the internet. Many of them are down-right offensive. I will NEVER click on an ad so there is no point in me not blocking them.
You don't have to click on them. Tournaments are paid per ad played on a stream. If you disable adblock just for the stream, you are making money for the tournament you're watching, just by ignoring 60 seconds of random ads instead of ignoring 60 seconds of random wubstep.

And they are about 4times the volume of the original stream making you deaf and annoyed at the same time.
We seriously need to stop having all the pressure on everyone to join the "contribute to e-sports life support" cause. Just let people stay in their "enjoy e-sports" club. Gentle reminders on how we can support is fine, but calling out people for having ad-block is just silly. The internet move with the times, just as e-sports should.
Where should e-sports move to? Subscription fees?
Seriously, sitting through one minute of ads instead of one minute of crowd shots is not going to kill you.
TANSTAAFL.
it's not going to kill me, but there's still no reason for me to sit through them if there's an incredibly easy way to avoid it with absolutely no drawback for me
Do you like watching professional SC2? Then it is a drawback for you.
yes, i like it, that doesn't mean maintaining it is my responsibility or that i would care a lot if it became less available
i would simply invest my time in other interests. you can't really tell me what is or isn't a drawback for me, lol
What a petulant attitude.
And your attitude of trying to blame people about stuff you got no business about is goddam annoying. Let people do what they want instead of trying make them feel guilty by not "supporting esports" (can we permaban that term already?)

I don't think this whining is helping anyone either, it's a real turn off if anything.
Seriously, this bullshit about "helping Esports" can go and get stuffed up something flaccid and hairy, I watch what I like to watch, I don't sit through ads when I'm watching sports or anything on TV because they make my brain hurt, I don't read ads in newspapers because why should I, and I'd much rather troll forums or watch something on youtube between games.
It's like that whole circus about buying those stupid pizzas to help Esports, what the fuck is that, buy a pizza if you want pizza.

just do what I do. Have a second stream on lowquality with adblock off, that way they get their ad revenue and im not bothered with ads. Winwin.

Well damn, I didn't know that. Thanks for the knowledge.

so often, I wonder why they don't get some sponsors to run ads instead of showing some generic screen. I hate excessive and invasive ads, but I really feel like they could use that wasted time to maximize revenue. It'd be less boring than a logo screen and whatnot.

I'm trying to explain to you why disabling adblock helps these tournaments that you're watching. You're welcome to subscribe instead.
If you want to be a freeloader, be a freeloader. But don't expect to not get called on it when you start soapboxing about it.
