It's over lads. If you can't give proper accountability to those who can't cancel their flights and hotel bookings, you have no further business to conduct.

LOL what an absolute farce. And no reason given either. There is absolutely no reason not to give the full and proper reason in fact you OWE it to those people. After so many people spent so much money and time.
GG Irish esports.

You have just killed your organisation, fucked over a lot of people and made Ireland once again look like a joke when it comes to esports. All in one fell swoop mate. Apologies aren't going to cut it really.

Meh you are right of course, I was thinking of the Vera Lynn incident to be honest which is the only other irish related thing I can think of happening in relation to SC2 anyway.

Why in the feck would you associate that with a country??? In any case, it's not as if that's a scandal on the scale of "damaging Ireland's reputation as a venue for eSports".

So we'll know the reason why this was cancelled when?
Complete shambles.

Again, I doubt it's a scam given the people I personally know who have received their refunds in pretty good time. People will have lost money via flights etc, but it's not going to go into the pockets of the organisers of the event, so I'm still mystified.
Quite annoyed at the lack of clarification. I have had dealings with noobgaming and they've been straight-up and decent at all times, and do seem genuine folk but by keeping schtum they are completely fucking any further forays into such territory.
Bit off more than they can chew perhaps, or god knows what? By not clearing things up further it'll harm the organisation in the long run and that saddens me.

Here's the e-mail the organizer, Paul Allen, sent to one of his sponsors on why it was cancelled. Incredibly vague, and even though he invites phone calls for clarification, the sponsor alleges that he has called him on 2 different numbers at least 4 times and none of the calls has been answered. Looks like he ran with the money.
Edit: Sponsor also claims that he has not received a refund.

Hey Andrew,
I apologise for the missed calls from you today as it's been a very stressful day due to recent changes that have arisen with n00b c0n event.
I regret to inform you that due to circumstances that are out of our control, I'm afraid we have had to postpone the event until a later date, specifically in relation to complicated issues with the venue itself.
Unfortunately we have exhausted all possible work arounds for the issues, and have been left with no other choice but to reschedule to a later date.
If you would like to discuss this in person or over the phone, feel free to let me know a suitable time.
We will of course drop in a full refund to you as soon as possible.
Paul

''Hi, Lads!I am the owner of PC maestro, one of their leader sponsors as you can see on the poster, and unfortunately I cant give a proper answer for the reason, why the event got cancelled, as Paul never told me. I only received a mail from him Friday morning with some bullshit reason, and with the option for a full refund of the money, what I gave for the sponsorship... Since he seems to be disappeared, I was trying to contact him via mobile and email as well, but he does not answer for anything... I think the simple reason, why it got cancelled, is because they couldn't sell enough tickets to cover all the expenses... But still I want my money back, and Im not gonna live it off, until I received a full refund! If anybody is in the same situation, lets help each other to get back our money!!!!!''
this was posted on the facebook page.. so seems like paul allen is indeed a complete fucking money stealing tosser!

What a shame ! I was really looking forward about this tournament as we need this kind of independent LANs (out of DH, IEM, ASUS, etc) and the prize pool was very interesting. I'm very disappointed and I hope everything will get their money back (even though it won't be easy I guess).

This is just so sad. This make others harder to get sponsors coz they who sponsored this event arent gonna give money away so "easily anymore" <- sry i dont know right word.
