* Longest winning streak in a major Korean SC2 tournament in history. The current record is Squirtle's fourteen in a row back in 2012 GSL Code S. It was broken by Mvp in G1 of the Grand Finals.
* Second player to win a major Korean SC2 tournament without a dropped map. The only other to do this was Nestea, back during 2011 GSL Code S July, where he went 13-0 and did not drop a single map the entire tournament. Curious also went a perfect 13-0, but it was during a Code A season back in 2011.
* Possibly the longest winning streak in SC2 Korean tournament history, but I am not 100% sure. I believe Nestea and Squirtle share the record for 14 games in a row. Only televised games count. In this case, it's 6 for Sora, the rest is attributed to "preliminary"

Television, qualifiers, it doesn't matter. No one has ever one 16 straight in a Korean tournament in SC2.

Best of 3 finals? Dissappointing

Sora with a 100% winrate vs Protoss.

So shouldnt we be focusing on the awesomeness of another really important INnovation vs Soulkey match? ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif) I believe there is small amount of money on the line (well, 4 million won for 1st place is not that small but still).
Ah ok thanks. I just didnt see that prize money statistic listed in the original article nor on liquipedia, so I wasnt sure that there was one.

Nvm.
Nestea got 15-0 before dropping a map. Squirtle got 14-0 before losing to Mvp.

Any source for this?

Well this certainly wasn't the finals I was expecting....
That said, GO PARTING!
|
If I told you the finals and third place match for WCG Korea were today and told you that one match was PartinG versus Sora(a CJ B-teamer), and the other was Inno v. Soulkey but didn't tell you which was which, you would probably assume Inno v. Soulkey was the championship and talk about how at least they both made it...
That said, PartinG FIGHTING
|
Was so hyped, but wtf bo3 finals... Inb4 quick 2-0 cheese... I don't think there is a gamer out there, who actually is able to understand WCG's weird decisions. They just like hurting themselves or something...
|
I'm rooting against parting in this one and the international grand finals (if he makes it) , I dont want parting to be on equal terms with Wc3 legand SKY , the ONLY 2 time wcg champion to win it back to back.
speaking of sky , does anyone know if there is a korean wc3 qualifier ?
|
Doesn't OGN get to decide how they run their qualifier though?
|
Loving the banner for today's match, can't wait to cast these games with montecristo!
|
There's a reason people don't give a damn about WCG anymore. Bo3 finals? Give me a friggin break. Bo5 I could understand.
