I can't see how it in any way is good for business. Would really like to hear their reasoning.
Apparently it's because they don't get ad revenue from the mobile app.
There was some back and forth b/w sundance and twitch about that. Somone tweeted sundance asking why no mobile support. Sundance responded by saying blame twitch. Twitch responded to guy by posting MLG's tweet about no mobile support but working on it in the future. Sundance fired back being specific this time saying it's because twitch doesn't support ads on mobile app.
MLG is being greedy here. I can't think of another tournament that disables mobile support on twitch over the ad issue. Not dreamhack, iem, nasl, proleague, gom or any tournament I can think of.

I don't blame MLG for wanting the ad money. Twitch really should get on that. I mean Twitch is the #1 company in this market you think they would have figured out this stuff. But they lack the little things, like account name changes. I personally don't want ads on my ipad streaming thing, because lets face it, if I am mobile I just may spend 5-10 minutes watching before going to do other things.
Tbh it's not Twitchs fault but MLG. They could just stream the ads themselves like Dreamhack and HSC.
I couldnt watch yesterday but did they fix these weird echo problems on the mainstream at some point? (if so how long did it took them?) Or is there any update about these issues yet?

I think the reason is that mobile apps don't play ads.

No, I think making money on streams is great for business!
So is getting additional viewers from mobile apps, and I think the positive side of it greatly outweighs the negative side.
Yes, because I have to watch NASL while at work since MLG isn't running a mobile stream. It's pretty awful not running mobile streams and really doesn't make any sense, but oh well. We still have NASL <3
