Damn this thread is depressing. Now I don't agree with Nerchio's BM (though it certainly does make things interesting), but seeing people call one of the most successful foreign progamers things like "dick" or "loser" while hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet is just disappointing.

Yeah, really not a big fan of nerchios in game personality, but this is a bit too much.

Ganging up on people of interest is just an easy way to get some spotlight, like 5 minutes of sad imagined anonymous fame. Your disappointed shall also be feasted upon as a way of recycling emotion. Nothing get lost!

Stating you are not in progaming to win is like stating you are not in the bathroom to poo. Sure there is other stuff to do in there, but nothing is better than pooping and winning. Nice to see someone enjoying competition, but it's not PROgaming for nothing. That was a shitty comparison.

Both a nice pun and an accurate statement !

Snute is doing a fantastic job representing the foreign scene atm so he's going to be a fan favorite and people will be upset. For one thing everyone hates those passive-aggressive comments that attack someone with a smiley :DD. What is that? At least idra was an obvious jerk.
That said I'm a Nerchio fan from WoL, but this just makes him out to look petty. In a competitive setting, you have to expect players to do what wins. When someone wins it's narcissistic to take away from their win. It was terrible timing and inappropriate. Honestly I wish Nerchio the best and I want him to become relevant in the big tournament scene again, but don't you dare disrespect the foreigners that are hanging with the Koreans as if they are undeserving.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something here but I don't see why being a successful foreigner progamer makes you immune to being called a dick, especially if you do dick-ish things (I'd say consistently BMing your opponents is a pretty dickish thing to do). I also don't see what anonymity has to do with it. If someone acts like a dick then people will call him out on it. You reap what you sow.

Well, two rights don't make a wrong. Either call him out respectfully, but slinging insults ruins the discourse. I don't mind people telling him to lay off the BM, but using terms like "loser" is a bit excessive. Progamers play this game as a job, have a much deeper understanding of the game, and are heavily involved in the scene. They put themselves out there for our entertainment, so to see some kid on the Internet hide behind an anonymous ID sling mud at them is irritating.
Progamers are human and aren't immune to criticism, but show some basic respect (and this goes all people, but especially progamers). Don't suddenly get brave because we don't know your name.

pretty sure plenty of people here would have called him a loser or a dick in front of his face...it's not like he's someone to be afraid of...

Anyone who BMs a player on a forum when they cant even lick his boots skill-wise is not worth your consideration! What would they understand about commitment and sacrifice to SC? Nothing!! They can never put themselves in your shoes and hence the insensitive comments.

Actually, if the BM was about his game play, you would be right. But the BM was mainly towards his attitude, so I am not sure how his skill in SC makes any difference.
