What a ridiculous tournament format. Takes validity out of it for me.

Wake me up for WCS Season 3.

Glad to see Fantasy advance first out of his group. Sad to see First's ramp-forcefield build take out Leenock. Overall, good groups today I'd say.

How do we define "On decline" these days? I won't argue against Life being in a tough spot now, but "for months" seems ridiculous.

I think winning MLGs back to back is a sign of decline.

Agreed, and even if it was for months, great players can slump.

So basically people are saying that SjoW and TLO are both better players than Fantasy, since Life only lost to Fantasy "cuz bo1".

It's not Bo1 it's Bo3 with different adversaries so people just stop whining. All people who lost just played bad. Life played bad, Jangbi played bad last game (he could have easily sniped the 3rd base), Hyvaa played very good (he won playing a very solid macro game, he was never behind).
This tournament format was like this since the beginning of Starcraft only GSL n00bs don't understand.
PS: Yes, Life is in a slump. When you loose to a foreigner in a Bo5 you know you're in decline.

If by that you mean best tournament format ever. This is so much more exciting to watch than 5 hours of bo3.

Zergs in OSL went from 14 in ro32 to 5 in ro16. I wouldn't be surprised if we have 1 or even no Zerg left in ro8.

Bo1 knocking out RorO, thanks OGN

yeah, how could an ex-broodwar player POSSIBLY be prepared for a Bo1 format. Such bullshit
+ Show Spoiler +
sarcasm is hard on the internet

it's not about 'being prepared for a bo1' it's about very simple math. the stronger player has a better chance to win in a longer series. if you think that life, jangbi, leenock and roro would have been kicked out of the group in bo3 series you are wrong and stupid.

gg no re ogn.

I keep forgetting "stronger player" means "the player I decided should win" :/

if you really think that kangho would win a bo100 against life and jangbi or hyvaa against leenock and roro or even fantasy against life though that one is not that clear - then you have no idea what you are talking about. bo1 format killed these players.

i'm not saying it's impossible to have it happen it's just way less likely.

when was the last time you watched a bo100? that's not how starcraft tournaments work. do you tell football fans their team wouldn't have won if the match had gone on for 50 hours?

for fucks sake..... why can't you just accept that bo1formats are bs because it's more likely that bad players advance. it's a very simple argument. but maybe we should jsut listen to you and make bo1 format finals woohee!

What's the difference between a good player that loses and a bad player that wins?

Tears !

Go bo1 finals! SoO/Kangho WCS Korea champion...what a joke. You are so right Greenei

(and it doesn't matter if OSL has always been like this, right now we are only getting to a ez pz boring win for Soulkey, Innovation or Flash -> no competition)

Its actually not the same, as there was "everybody against all" before, and now some players will go out after 2 games.

Just saying...

Totally, because it's not at all about overall skill, mechanics, swiftness, tactics and decision making, but it's all about preparing that one build to snipe your opponent. And, to add a another fun factor, in mirrors, it's just a coinflip. Isn't that great? I totally get your point.

The Bo1 is fine as long as there is everybody against all (players must play consistent and not drop a games vs randon players). This new however...I dont like it.

Edit: ow wait, its Ro32. Owww....thats ok.
