You think this is bad eh? Wait until mutas are no longer viable/common and get ready for some really exciting swarmhost vs swarmhost action with mass static defense. It seems to be what most people want anyway (for some weird reason ).

I may be wrong but Swarm host vs Swarm host will never happen that way I believe, because mobility is much more effective against swarm host than anything else.. So swarm host vs ultra-lings-vipers?

Oh trust me it'll happen if there is no air thread. Ultras actually can't really fight vs swarmhosts (unless there aren't many).

same reason people have hard-on for mech I guess?

Mech is different, there is normally harassment and mech doesn't fling free units out so games don't draw out like sh vs sh.

the sh just never introduces interesting play.

The mere design of the unit forces it into massing it which causes the most dull gameplay ever. Blizz really fucked up with the design of it, they should have just made a long range unit instead of some free unit spawner.

ZvP is already seeing too many crappy superlong games because of it.

I think the unit could be fine without a complete redesign. I think it could be made interesting if you increase the amount of time between locust spawns rather significantly, but increase the Swarm Host's movement speed by quite a bit. That way they can do hit and run attacks and be really deadly in the hands of people that move their army and micro well, but they could still be very vulnerable between locust spawns for much longer. They've feel more Zerg'ish that way too, I think.

One of the best decisions EG has ever made was signing this kid to their roster. Future face of the team IMO

As long as we are offering our thoughts on game design...

I would make the swarm host extremely slow but allow it to spawn units when not burrowed. It would allow for really interesting overlord ferrying and such. I think the locusts would have to be rebalanced to account for the change, but I think they would be a lot more fun to watch and allow great players to do some really cool things with them.

Which would make them useless since you'd have 30-60 army supply that can't do shit for large periods of time and the protoss player would just have to kill off one wave of locusts, maybe take a few losses then just roll over the zerg while locusts are still on CD.

He may. As he is going win WCS america (fanboy in me) he probably won't but if in some alternate reality he doesn't then it's possible. He'll still be dedicated to SC2 this summer.
