True that is. StarTale has basically no P lineup, and I feel like Symbol would be weakest versus P due to no preparation versus that race in Code S WCS KR Premier. Curious might snipe him, tho I feel like it will be hard for him due to losing to Symbol before. It might affect him. Then there's Life. I think his awesomeness can overpower Symbol.

Come on, he isn't that good. I mean, of course that it is possible, but if Symbol plays like two days ago, I doubt that Hack will be able to do anything.
Ah my favorite two teams going against each other. I can see either team winning! Also great to see so many people have trust in Eve to be the MVP, haha
I think Hack has a great opportunity to show us how much he's improved for HotS. I hate to say it, but I don't think Life will even get a chance to play. Sorry Azubu =(
ughh i need to know the starting matches for the second match too so i can edit my fgstl team... ugh do i add hack to it or not?!?! CURSE U AZUBU FOR STARTING SYMBOL

StarTale 4 - 3 AZUBU
Can Life be stopped?
I think Violet is certainly capable in ZvZ, though Life is still the favorite in that regard.

It is possible it will never happen, and that's something I personally believe will never happen. Proleague is super serious business for them. Would be fun though.
Just a small fun fact: This dance was in a different music video with the Brown Eyed Girls, and Ga-In dances it in this video too. If you don't know who it is, it's the one joking around in the end.

Doesn't joining proleague costs a team lots of money? Except a couple i doubt most will be able to pay that.

You bring up a good point. With how cheap mines are and how cost-efficient they can be, it seems like Terrans feel confident with spending so little money on them. I don't know if Bomber ever had more than 10 mines at once in this game, which is the mins+gas equivalent of only about 4 tanks.

It's not like he can't play builds he won't use vs Leenock today.
Why would they not send out Life? As much as I like Khaldor and Wolf it should be no problem to Life to bring out a high level game with a standard strategy. He doesn't need to have his prepared build shown, he can deliver in any match up by playing completely standard and not revealing anything. :x

Always try and explain this to people.
Half of a caster's job is to make the game accessible to people who don't play or don't play at a high level. If all they did was cater to the higher level player they'd be ignoring a vast majority of the viewers.

The second Life paid attention to what goswser used, goswser collapsed. It wasn't actually close at all.

Ofcourse, I'm not saying you talk bullshit. I just feel like they are making it bigger than it is. Life is not known to be a tricky pony, but well rounded. He's mechanically brilliant and a stratigical genius. I felt like there should be no need for him to be 'worried' as he can play a game without revealing important stuff. Hope you took no offence =.=
I can understand that if not neccessary or avoidable, a player wouldn't want to play in the matchup (or at all, because he has P T Z in his group), also how do you read, write and cast at the same time, the fuck! :D
WCS is such a mess the graphics for GSTL still say Code A
half the time they say Code A and half the time they say Challenger, and they never say Premier.
In fact I don't think Tastosis has mentioned WCS even once during Code S broadcasts and how its important to get top 5 to make it to the season finals.
It's sad but I have to root against life. And it's even sadder that this is totally futile because life will just slaughter everyone without mercy (include my Fantasy GSTL team)

Imo, they should use Code S and Code A for every region. It sounds more awesome than Premier and challenger

Good keep it that way. Code S should only ever refer to top players, hearing people call Goswser a Code S player would just be wrong, we need a way to differentiate.

That would destroy the meaning of Code S, think about when you call someone a Code S player. Code S should refer to WCS KR only, call the other guys w/e you want just not Code S.

Fake it turn around the weakened one so both banelings will undeniable reach the weakness of every Zerg production. But I guess organizing your defense is more important. Could see he only hoped to grab the transfer drones. But guess this move has become to common, so Life didn't transfer.

Will probably be a fake attack into a Recall and then turtle up to sky toss, not risking any engagement till the Zerg simply gives up against the spooning.

Yeah he was behind in drones after his first attack as well, so it was basically a all or nothing with his last attack before losing? :p Hmm, I don't even know why he tried to do the first attack at all, counting on his opponent going super greedy? ^^

ST is a bad team with squirtle and parting gone, Bomber is way too inconsistent and easy to exploit if you prepare for his style, curious is absolutely terrible. Life was being sent out vs the very first player from Azubu...thank god I didn't buy th season ticket (or for heaven's sake yearly).

I think Life doesn't feel very comfortable in PvZ Lategame - he always plays REALLY aggressive in this MU... Didn't work out, but I doubt he would have won if he just played passive because - lets be honest - PvZ late game is 't really fun to play as Zerg ;-)
First HotS Loss for Life, still quite impressive and PvZ has always been his "worst" matchup :-P
As stupid as lifes build was that game, it will lead to him winning his next more important games. He should have taken san a little more seriously though...

Yeah, unless San went AFK, Life would always be way behind in a macro game.
Life's biggest strengths is that he is the best competitor in the world. He's not afraid to take risks, and normally has a very good feel for the game. The fact that the oracle managed to kill six drones and scout his all in didn't help Life either, to say the least.

I don't want to be a dick, but you are clearly lacking intelligence if you don't see that they have one of the deepest rosters in GSTL. Curious Ro4. Bomber plays like a champion on some days and worse on others. Symbol is a GSL finalist. Why won't you send the strongest player you have when you are down by a lot? Saves yourself from possible snipes, like this, too.

That's not the point, I'd agree that Life obviously was in his best shape - but Code S is still more important than GSTL. Taking the current PvZ, where the Zerg has to be really active in the game to stand a chance, he obviously didn't show the builds he migh have prepared for PartinG.
And even more important: it's a Bo1, EVERYONE loses Bo1 Games once in a while. And once again I think: PvZ is quite annoying for a Bo1 :-P
I still don't doubt he will win his Code S group or at least advance. In contrast to San, Life will be prepared for PartinG. In contras to San it will be a Bo3 and in contrast to today he might even lose to the Toss (As far as I know by far his worst Matchup) and still advance (No terran was able to defeat him and the new ZvZ style in HotS is definitely betrer for him than it was back in WoL (More Ling/Bling, no roaches, more Muta vs Muta)
San always keeps his units in front of the wall to bait the Zerg into attacking. That can work really well but if he (San) is late on the Force Fields only once he can easily lose the game in seconds.

This is a very knife's edge build from Curious, if San could have pushed before he had Ultras out, he would have died probably but now he's in a good position.

What the fuck curious ???? You do a cheesy build where you can be killed at any time, and then you decide to engage in an awfull place with melee units and no viper -_-
well curious has to attack, protoss army only gets better, but its impossible on most maps to get a good engagement which is why this strat was a bad choice anyways, curious was very confused from sans strange opening i guess (2 gate expand pressure into stargate)
On April 19 2013 20:18 MasterOfPuppets wrote: Game of throws...

Not really a throw, but 3-3 Zerg army vs 2-0-0 Protoss is a bit scary IMO.
well, 6immortals+5Colossus against 7ultras and a bunch of lings and queens is just a really good counter. And the positin just let's them shine even more.
On April 19 2013 20:21 goldspoon wrote: ST_Curious: "what is viper? can u eat it?"
Viper didnt matter.. 8 immortals.. nice macro curious but GG bo-scout win. That strategy looks so bad when scouted..
Well HTs were available, but Vipers actually do really well against Immortals with their cloud, because you have to clump them. Aside from that you can pick the Immortals. But Koreans seem to dislike Vipers simply because of Feedbacks. And they also seem to feel they are put under a timer, because of Artosis ... I mean Airtoss.
Actually AZUBU has been getting underestimated since they got all-killed, but they beat ST and FXO to reach the finals of the pre-season - they really are a team of contenders.
Well, I loved the balance whine at the beginning (and still) of HOTS: Well, what have we learned today? Azubu wants to make an All-Kill. They pick a Zerg player. Interesting for all who say Terran is OP: Obviously Zerg is weak in HOTS, right? 2 Terrans were thrown against him. Zerg only gets beaten by another Zerg. Interesting for all who say Toss is UP: The often quoted "best player in the world" loses to a Toss. Toss also wins the final game.
But this can be pointed out or be ignored, those who say something is OP will always say that. "Yeah but in Game 1 he could have seen it coming and made tanks, same in game 2 also he shouldn't have lost the Orbital" True Game 4 "Yeah, but life failed 2 allins, thats why he lost, Toss is still OP" True Game 5 "Curious threw his army against a wall and therefore he lost" True.
OP-whiners will always say it wasn't "their" race that won, it was the other player who lost the game due to stupid mistakes and the other way around.
So this shows that the races are close enough that 1 big mistake makes you lose, no matter with what race After several Terran wins in a row lately, seeing Zerg and Toss winning is refreshing, I am looking forward to endless back and forth TvZ battles, as I have seen enough TvT at the beginning of WoL, enough ZvP in the middle and ZvZ in the End of WoL. I want best matchup there is: ZvT
Wow Khaldor, you be teaching me, so when i scout 1-1 lings, lots of queens and an infestation pit i should start immortal/archon productions. <3 watching the GSTL to make me better.
San. That was really really impressive play. his defence and crisis management was really strong.

It was, wasn't it? And yet the observer seemed to be highlighting many moments of inattentiveness from him that I'm not accustomed to seeing from top level players - getting caught out not forcefielding his wall not once but twice, having single air units dotted over the map doing very little, having Phoenixes sat just out of range of Overlords and not attacking them or being nudged passively out of the Zerg base by Queen attacks or whatever.
I know it's a hard game but he looked as if (at the micro level) he was playing badly until he won, both times. Is he trying to do too much stuff at once, do you think? Is his strategic understanding that much better than the people he beat? (than Life? really?)
ALSO: a Google translation of thisisgame.com's GSTL coverage suggests that San's real name is River Meadows, and that's awesome.
On April 19 2013 21:19 LeafBlower wrote: i didn't get to watch it, can anyone give a quick run down of what build san did?
against life, oracle opening into holding all-in against curious, 2gateway pressure into stargate. holding off the ling runbys well put san really far ahead and he dealt with the ultras well with immortal/collosus
I used to be such a huge fan of Startale but it just kind of faded after awhile, so to a certain extent I'm not too sad about them losing. Especially because the one they lost to is Azubu. Glad to see Azubu picking up wins. Cool that San picked up two wins.

Infamous player from early sc2 named by Tastosis as the worst player in Code S during GSL March 2011. Artosis claimed if San could beat NesTea he would swallow a sword. San ended up winning the group beating Nestea, Boxer, and Ensnare. San would lose in the semis to MC and then play for the KR vs The World team beating Sen with 2 base carrier rush and making the semis of the WC GSL. He would eventually fall into Code B for a while as he struggled to win many live event matches. He qualifies for a lot of tournaments playing extremely well online but seems to have a nerve issue. It has also been said that he is responsible for coming up with tons of builds for protoss in WoL. He has qualified for GSL, OSL, IPL, and MLG but typically loses in the first few rounds. He was one of the best players on New Star HoSeo for a long time actually coming out to snipe Life in the GSTL back then when Life was on ZeNEX. He has typically had very good PvZ but has been held back in his other matchups. He is also infamous for getting the Khydarian Amulet removed from the game during GSL March 2011, but I'm pretty sure it was for his games against sCfOu, not the Nestea game. He recently requalified for code A. He now has a 5-0 career head to head with Life
San was considered the best protoss in the world for a very short but notable period of time. He beat guys like nestea and sc in very long macro games. However his pvp was hilariously bad. And yes he was one of the reasons why archon toilet became popular and why the instastorm upgrade was removed

Tastosis call everyone the best in the world, or best at something, all the time. It basically depends on who's playing on that day. Different day, different best player lol

I'm not sure that's really a title you want to have anyway =)
My favorite San moment of all time: when he qualified for code A in late 2012, and in his interview stated "well zerg is really hard, I don't understand why nobody else is talking about how hard zerg is"... and at that time EVERY SINGLE non-zerg who qualified was complaining about zerg. Way to be connected to the scene ahah
But yeah I enjoy San. I always love clear underdogs that have the capacity to sometimes do great things.

I don't know about FXO but NSH got a warning because SortOf didn't properly set his hotkeys and had to pause the game.
Generally speaking if there is any sort of interruption to a game or misconduct that is the fault of the players then they get a warning. You can pretty much think of them like penalties in ball sports.
