To be honest, the KeSPA vs eSF bores me because of guys like you. I have exactly zero interest in KeSPA vs eSF and yet the forums are full of it. Sigh.

Yeeeah! This group went exactly how I wanted it too. Flash looking like a bad ass killer, SK coming in 2nd, Maru 3rd, and the lesser player of the group(IMO) falling in last. Now to decide about the next group: I want Last to advance but what do I prefer, A sort of kind of kespa player in Parting(but not really) or Life to advance for a potential Flash vs Life later on(or innovation or whoever)...hmm.

somehow Flash's play doesn't really impress me all that much. i guess all the hype makes me a little sick of him (not that it's his fault). but he also does the same thing every game and nobody punished him for it today. getting greedy when you see Flash being greedy is fine i guess, but i would've preferred to see some more all-ins.

Maru was by far the most entertaining player to watch today, too bad he didn't make it through =/

I am amazed that the mods let this KeSPA vs eSF thing go so far. Honestly, it's turning me off from the whole scene together.

Yeah because Yoda, Gumiho, Symbol, Taeja, and LosirA didn't recently just beat Kespa players. Your standard for "proof" that Kespa beats the shit out of ESF is rather strange.

There are two factions in SC2: current KeSPA players and future KeSPA players.

Unfortunately for you this rivalry is what makes me enjoy the game oh so much more. I enjoy korean vs korean and korean vs foreigner(it is rooting for the koreans that makes this fun to me) and I enjoy esf vs vs esf and kespa vs kespa but it is rooting for kespa vs esf that is my primary motivator in watching sc2 and what matches and events I focus the most on. Nothing gets me moe pumped than watching a kespa player beat an esf player.

why you against fun spirited competition?

the root of this esf vs kespa thing is easily understandable and obvious. i think it brings fun to the game rather than annoyance.
people who take it seriously is another matter but i think many are just poking fun here and there.

haha, nice kespa vs. esf debate on the past few pages

i am one of the more vocal anti-kespa-esf bashing posters around, i make it a point to call out any needless bashing. i think such bashing is toxic and stops a lot of people from properly enjoying the games - since whenever a player from a certain association loses, undeniably there will be bashing e.g. quite a few posts in this thread. when a kespa player loses it happens as well, e.g. fantasy in his group. however, kespa players are bashed rather less than esf players.

don't get me wrong - i totally understand why it's an important rivalry. choisulli makes his point quite well. however, the problem is mindless, uneducated bashing. if BW fans tell of SC2 fans that they should know the history of BW, it is reasonable to expect that BW fans can treat SC2 with respect as well. and a lot of BW fans do - it's just quite a few people who specifically go out of their way to exhibit their superiority and make a point of bashing esf players. and it's not really that they actually believe 100% of what they are saying, since honestly, any person bashing like so is deluded. it's to bait a reaction out. there are plenty of these people who only ever visit SC2 tournaments for that express purpose and don't event watch the games.

oh, and i am perfectly happy to accept that kespa organisation is better - they have money, infrastructure and SPL, which is a very strong drive to perform. so of course inevitably they will do better. what i disagree with is the assertion that they are in some way intrinsically or genetically superior to all others lol.

for those who enjoy the rivalry and cheering for their own assocation, that's fine and cool (and even a bit of ribbing is fun too). but for those who go out to provoke reactions and really shove it down throats, that's not fine.

my personal viewpoints, feel free to disagree.

That is a horrible position to take. Should someone not express happiness when their favorite players win? Thats half the point of LR threads and it is nothing remotely close to balance whining.

expressing happiness is fine, but there are quite a few who go out of their way to bash, and those are the ones i have issue with

for example, when gumiho beat rain, i believe your stance there was most unreasonable.

I am amazed that was allowed. If it was a balance "discussion" of that degree, it would have been jumped on like hounds upon prey.

The anger came from a player I like losing but there is nothing wrong with my position, wanting the better player to more consistently win. Gumiho is a fine player and obviously code S but IMO he is less good than rain but a good amount and I see nothing wrong or offensive with wanting the better player to win. This actually has absolutely nothing to do with esf vs kespa. Foreigners beating koreans also bothers me, or even say MC losing to someone like Tails.

I should add that I feel strongly is the idea that there are better and worse players. I do not like when someone says "good players beating good players" when I believe 3rd best should consisitently beat 7th best so it should not matter if you are good or not but whether you are better than your opponent. In the gumiho case he is a damn fine player but in my opinion not nearly as good as Rain

You can keep it to yourself instead of sprouting stuff on the forum. Just like how we keep balance whines to ourselves.

I am reading through this thread as I watch the vods(i dont know the results) and I am so fucking pissed I can't help but type this. Gumiho advancing over rain is a travesty. Rain is the best protoss or at worst top 3(and that nonsense by opterown saying rain is a lesser creator is hilarious when creator is at best a mid tier code s player not not even in the discussion of best protoss in the world) and to have a group with the best terran and top 3 protoss to have a low or maybe mid tier terran advance over either one of them is horrible. I'm sure some how im going to find that Innovation gets knocked out too and ill need a new computer screen.

that post is actually ridiculous. this whole thing pisses me off quite a bit. I wonder if these people actually believe if what they are saying or just spouting nonsense for the fun of it.

Your stance on this is that if a player is well known they should be unbeatable to someone less proven/the underdog? Lol.
I can see where your BW elitest thought process kicks in.

your example of MC vs. Tails is quite telling - i have never seen you express such anger when a low-tier kespa player beats a high tier non-kespa player. and i read just about every post in the LRs.
