Fans of each promotion would be cheering for their own champion. Hardly pointless. It's called being a fan.
Being a hardcore fan boy is usually plagued with irrational thought. As for your mixed martial arts example, I'd say more fans gravitate towards certain fighters rather than the brand they're fighting in. Case in point look at all the crazy Fedor fans. I'd say you'd have a more constructive conversation by talking about which format/score card system when it comes to those two organizations.

Maybe I deserve to get offended and upset when you try to tell me that that didnt mean shit, and i need to let it go. Well it meant something bro, at least understand that.
I can understand your bitterness. I love players from both sides, but obviously i wasn't invested into BW scene. I can ask, watch videos, or vods that fellow members of the community link from time to time, but as you said, now it's dead. I started following esports with sc2, most of the players i know and followed are esf players. There are exceptions, like innovation, and i am pretty sure over time i will get to like more players regardless of what side of the fence they are in. Do you think i should be despised because i got into this too late to follow BW, or to know their pros ? Nah, if anything it would be because of some of the stupid one-liners i write due to excitement.
And i don't understand why you feel people is trying to tell you "that didn't mean shit". People is telling you that your bitterness is directed in a childish way. You are despising people that are like you were 8 years ago. Passionate about something they enjoy (sc2), and even if you don't like the game, i think you should be able to find some empathy towards them. If kespa crushing esf players gives you satisfaction, i see no problem on that. Actually i think it's nice of you to still care even after BW... But i fail to comprehend where any sc2 fan caused you harm aside maybe some trolls who you should ignore anyways. Blizzard killed BW, not me.

Maybe I deserve to get offended and upset when you try to tell me that that didnt mean shit, and i need to let it go. Well it meant something bro, at least understand that. No one is saying BW doesn't matter man =/ You can't blame some of the younger people for not knowing about BW. Some of the fans never even got to play it. Can't blame them if it was already an old game by them time they got into video games. A lot of SC2 fans ask a lot about BW because they want to learn more about it. There aren't a lot of great resources about it, but you can see that a lot of fans are genuinely interested in these players and their histories. That's why I appreciate SNM, he knows a decent amount of history and he shares this in his PL casts. Only the forum trolls ever went into BW forums and celebrated its death. Only forum trolls hated on Kespa players when they decided to switch. You can see almost everyone loves a lot of Kespa players. And Blizz killed BW. Not ESF, not its players, and definitely not the fans. Hate on Blizz if you want. Heck, Kespa decided to switch. ESF, its players, and its fans had nothing to do with it. Relax man, it's bad for your soul to have so much hate over a game. Edit: I'm not saying you have no right to be upset. Of course you do. You loved the game and now it's gone. But you shouldn't blame people who had nothing to do with it going away.
I agree with all of what you have said. I just want to clarify that you dont have to worry, its not like a burning hate I have or anything like that, its just at its core that is why the rivalry matters to me. I remember I first just responded to someone cause he posted that he dosent know why it mattered to people. All I tried to do is give my personal experience and as to why it mattered to me. People didnt like my reasons and or dismiss them as childish. I find it upsetting, for my feelings that I have developed over such a long time can be dismissed as childish by someone. So I just tried to make him understand further, but the more I try, the worse I get called. It started with people mocking my feelings, to calling them childish to know someone saying im fucked up in the head. So I guess I will just stop.

In football you can actually find that and the champions league. Plenty of supporters cheer for their other national located teams, sometimes even if they are rivals. And as a Barcelona fan i have actually cheered for them :S (Blasphemy, i know) against english opposition because every news outlet and all the focus has been on the premier league so its nice when spanish teams win and get respected.

Pretty sure this isn't true in general. Maybe in generally smaller/weaker football nations, but still pretty doubtful (can you imagine Celtic fans supporting Rangers in CL?)

Oh c'mon. Atleast take a day after i make my baseless claims. It is actually really really rare to find that, but i can only speak for spanish tho, even with national pride on the line, nothing is worse than your opponent getting a champion's league.

It just doesn't seem right to cheer for your rival. I'd rather see them lose regardless of who they are playing. That's just my take on it but I guess it's just a personal preference. Even on the example Klogon is trying to do, i dare him to find a barcelona fan cheering for real madrid to get a win on champions league, and vice versa. Oh c'mon. Atleast take a day after i make my baseless claims. It is actually really really rare to find that, but i can only speak for spanish tho, even with national pride on the line, nothing is worse than your opponent getting a champion's league.
Spaniards are quite something else. Nice country too.

Someone needs to teach players the importance of brand recognition. It's funny because this wasn't much of a problem in the early years, but now it seems like every other Korean changes their name with the coming of a new season. Someone needs to get it through their head for branding purposes. It would help their following immensely. Got to keep your body in check. Maybe they don't care about brand recognition for the foreigners? The koreans using their real name anyway so their ID is just something to mess around with.

This doesn't just apply to foreigners and I know they use their real names as well. The problem is they should care when it comes to marketing/promotional purposes people are going to associate the alias & their name. We're talking about everything from merchandising/memorabilia to searches.

I write "Kespa" and "eSF", haha. Rubbish quirk you have.

If I was Life I would be more preoccupied about Kespa Zergs. They kicked his ass twice out of the Code S. I hope he practised ZvZ a lot..

Same as you except switch Innovation vs Life in semifinals and Flash > Life in finals My hype for Flash has disappeared. He's kind of boring to watch. He's so precise and there is nothing spontaneous about his play. So...go Innovation!!!!
Flash has the history, the skills, the work ethic, the dedication.
Innovation is amazing as well... maybe with time I'll have the same hype as for him as I do for Flash.
When I watch Innovation, I'm amazed at how good he is, but nothing more.

For the recommended games polls, isn't the question usually just "Recommend Winner's Match game 1?" without mentioning the players? Got spoiled when looking to see what games I should queue up
