Also with 8 KeSPA advancing already in the worst-case scenario it will be 50/50 between them and eSF in the Ro16! GSL is only getting better and better with each tournament. eSF can only get to 43.75% in Ro16 if the best scenario for them happens. Huh? If Leenock and Life go through it's gonna be 50% eSF One could argue about Parting as well, but I guess it's almost enough time for him to be considered KeSPA Taeja's not. I dont know what you are extremly passionate about, but say it was soccer, and if I didnt give a fuck about soccer, does that give me the right to say your childish for carrying about soccer or a particular team? No, you obviously Identify with it for some reason, which I dont understand but I can respect. I happen to identify very strongly with KESPA players and hate ESF players, so im passionate about the rivalry. You may not understand or agree with me, but just because you dont have the same feelings as me about it, how does that make my feelings childish??
Its like someone comes and says, why care about a video game.
You can probably answer them, as to why you care about video games.
Then you may have gamers, and some of them maybe dont get why anyone would care about sc2.
Im sure you can explain to them why you are passionate about Sc2.
You may have Sc2 fans not understand why you like koreans, and watch GSL.
Im that there are people here that can explain why they are passionate about that.
You may have people not get why you care about a certain player.
You can probably explain, why you identify with him and cheer for him.
You have people who dont get why people care about ESF and KESPA
Well some of us can tell you why we identify, and care about that.
At every one of those levels a persons lack of understanding sometimes called ignorance, can lead to them saying shit like "your childish" "video games are stupid" "who cares about kroeans they got no personality" "whats the difference between KESPA and ESF its the same shit"....
Now we can see why I refer to it as passion and you as childish.

You guys need to get over this ESF versus KeSPA and vice versa bullshit. It's getting old and stale.

Kespa fights back, I see ^_^
|
And the same goes for "Korean vs Foreigners". I don't "like Koreans", I just like good players. If they happen to be Korean, well then so be it.
|
Well, as childish as people seem to think it is, I don't see why they have to be bashed for it. I don't think it will ever reach a point where it becomes detrimental to the growth of SC2 anyway.
I don't think he thinks being a fan of Kespa > a fan of eSF, he probably just feels that the BW pros are the best RTS players, and that the early SC2 pros are upstarts who has gained undeserved recognition.
His belief will be put to the test as SC2 progresses, so I don't see why there is a need to bash him, seeing as he's doing no harm. He isn't making any personal attacks on fans or players, he just has an assumption that BW pros are still the best, even if he fails to realise SC2 is a new game and requires subtly different skills in varying measures.

Kespa vs eSF would only make sense if they were competing in the same teamleague. Otherwise, it's a rather dull and meaningless rivalry for me :<

If it keeps people watching the game and keeps these players paid, then whatevs man do whatever you want
But some day the mods are going to get tired of it (if it gets worse) and make LR threads "No kespa vs esf" zones (like how balance whine is almost inta-temp ban).
Anyway I've gotten tired of this debate. The sensitive side won't grow thicker skins; the offensive side won't learn to be more amicable.
I just want good games yo

Let there be BLOOD ESF VS KeSPA. Whoever is against that movement is killing eSports. Plain and simple. What's wrong with a little rivalry?
Taking it overboard is a problem (e.g. Canucks losing the Cup and trashing the city) but the rivalry is amazing. Tournament viewers plummet when there are only Koreans left. Sad fact. Perhaps the KeSPA vs ESF will put an end to it.

A majority of fans are casuals. Unfortunately I don't think they'll care about eSF vs Kespa. To them everyone is just Korean. Pretty sure the casuals know jack shit about BW too. It might help the Korean scene (though I don't think they care that much either).
To be honest the rivalry only exists in hardcore bw/sc2 forums. But if it makes you like the game more go ahead

Btw I think you can detect fairly consistently which "faction" is a poster from by just looking at the way he capitalizes "eSF" and "KeSPA". If he's a KeSPA guy, he will write correctly "KeSPA" and all caps "ESF" or something. If he's an eSF guy, he will write correctly "eSF" and just do whatever with Kespa.

A passion can be childish. Yours, definitly is and there is no demagogy enough in this world to cover up the fucked up mindset people like you have when it comes to kespa vs esf thing. And yes, i am referring to the "despise" other people while expecting others to "not despise" your passion as childish.

I personally have no favoritism between the two factions, I have my players that is it. I was speaking on behalf of the community at large, this is a beneficial thing. I think this is the next thing Casters should be pushing and explaining to the casuals "What is ESF vs KeSPA rivalry?".
There needs to be something to remove as you said it "Casuals see just Koreans, then stop watching". That is a massive problem.
