Hydra's best matchup is ZvP, his ZvZ is up there, and ZvT is his worst (cf. last week's game vs Speed). Hence I would not have sent a Protoss, especially not on Neo Caldeum after they reduced the armor and hit points of the rocks and blocking structures making it much harder for Protoss to secure their natural.
I would have thus sent TaeJa. He did not get wrist surgery, just electrotherapy (judging by the Twitter picture). But let's assume he couldn't play, then instead I would have sent either ThorZaiN or Zenio (Jaedong apparently wasn't at the studio). ThorZaiN ain't too bad at TvZ and Zenio's best matchup is ZvZ.
I hope EG-TL will play their players differently in the future. There's no point in giving exposure to everyone on the team when in the end you will lose more than half your matches in Proleague.
Oh well. What's done is done. Thankfully I have Hydra on my FPL team.

So can we stop arguing about whether or not HerO > JYP in terms of a pick and focus on why exactly Taeja didn't play? His surgery obviously didn't stop him from sweeping his Up/Downs group.

I don't think JD and PuMa are back from the US yet, or if they are they're probably super jet-lagged.
I don't really have a problem with them going with JYP who has a "hot hand." and has been doing well.

Unholy alliance crumbling as of late. If EG wants to play proleague themselves, let be it.

It really is, even despite the TL aces' uninspired play lately.
I don't know why a lot of people are blaming the map when it's clear that regardless, JYP did not look prepared *at all*. So it's either his fault for not preparing or the coach's fault for not sending someone else out.

They probably gave him today off so he could rest

Go to his twitter.... he tweets this stuff every time ... he did like 3 days before he won NASL..he did the same shit before Dreamhack ...and he just went the and won both ... You shouldnt judge Hero by his twitter Before today: Hero is 3-4 in PL JYP is 7-4 in PL Whether or not he has "problems," JYP still is more fit than him to play in televised pl matches. Yeah, but who did he play? And two of those wins came from this Round, where he got 2 wins in the winner's format. Two of HerO's losses were to Rain and Flash, and his other loss was because he failed to wall off against a Zerg. I don't remember his 4th loss.
I don't understand. Are wins less meaningful because they're in winner's league format...?

don't see your point. "and 2 wins are from this aorund in winners league" ... they are still wins ... no?

lol Stephano is still really good, he almost handed the win to EGTL...
CJ fighting! Keep those guys out of the play off spots

What's to focus on? We have no information on it. All that can be assumed is that he was unable to play or he would have.

Thorzain streams hours upon hours of HOTS every week. JD and Puma were just at an event in Las Vegas. They release silly interview videos. Preparation obviously isn't their main priority.

You don't have to be a genius to do that. Vs teams that are not that deep as KT or EG-TL, this should work pretty much every time. Stephano and Taeja 100% of the time, and JD, Hero or Revival sent on their best matchups.
If your goal is that everyone in the team has to get to play, then it is not surprising that from time to time you lose vs less deep teams.

Just like last time right? Where neither HerO nor Taeja were "able to play". It just seems like the coaches wanna make everybody happy by playing everybody regardless of who the best players are. Good to see Stephano doing well though, not good to see him getting almost fucking DQed because he types "gl, hf". That's just fucked up.

lol hydra kills stephano and jyp :D
also, why not send out jaedong, he is the zvz guy on EG-TL as ace.
