My guess that viewership count suffers a lot when a guy like Grubby goes 0-5 and this is not a good thing. I'm wondering what will happen if foreigners stop qualifying and winning in big tournaments. It may spell the end for SC2 support by big organizations / sponsors in favor of other uprising games such as Dota2...

Of course you can say that everyone is lying to us and he has a secret account that nobody ever heard of, but that seems very unlikely to me. Actually no. Most pro's know he practices. The casters love blowing it up for dramatic effect, but most should know better. Edit: Hell, you can tell from his slump late November when he was playing tournaments/traveling too much. If normally he doesn't practice normally, you'd expect him to improve with a heavy tournament schedule, not vice versa..

But if you look at the results so far Yoda - Not a code S main stay but this is his 3rd consecutive season in Code S MC - Has been slumping and wasn't in Code S last season but still a code S main stay Taeja - Code S main stay Squirtle - Code S main stay DRG - Code S main stay LosirA - probably the most 'surprising' member of the group There are so many good players now (especially with Kespa) that Code S might not be able to fit them all. But it is hard to argue that the any of the players that have made it in so far are 'undeserving'.

Actually most players have secret smurf accounts, most of them barcodes. I'd be 0% surprised if Stephano had one.

You have to play 100% to win a PvZ While Zerg can be sloppy an lose like 2000 minerals in the beginning and still put down the 4th while forcing chancel on the Protoss 3rd. As long as you not cheesing hard, the Zerg player will always find a hole in your wall. Grubby lost to the Terran and Protoss in the group as well. Maybe, just maybe, he was the worst player here and was outclassed? Just a thought.

Nah we wont, as seen so many times before the korean terrans always adapt although the game might not be in its finest state right now. Im worried about the protoss though!

It's extremely stupid that the three historically most successful players in the group advanced (to Code S or the wildcard group)? Among the players who didn't advance there's only a single Code S appearance, with Bbyong's Ro32 finish. Sometimes you have to look beyond the icons next to the players' names.

Because it is good for business? How many people will subscribe just to watch Stephano? Will it upset some people who feel this is 'unfair'? Probably. But to the point where they will not subscribe JUST because of that? I don't think too many. You could also say it was unfair for players like DRG and MC that got a Code S seed from MLG in 2011. Because not all the Koreans were invited or their teams could afford to send them. That is how things work some times. Honestly, out of all the foreign seeds, Stephano's has been the easiest to justify.
