WCG is FAR from a joke tournament. Are there tons of Code S koreans? Well no but there are some top level players here, and it is meant to have a fair amount of representatives from multiple nations. WCG has also been around for a long time which to me makes it fairly prestigious. Much more prestigious than IPL5, although IPL5 is huge. Just doesn't have the history that WCG does.

It is more or less HOW it is being run that is upsetting people. You can't get VOD's of specific games, there's only a couple of streams, none dedicated to SC2 or other games, so you miss games you may want to see. I want to watch FireZerg's matches and Hendralisks matches specifically, instead I have to sift through hours of footage to find what I want. Also, the qualifiers for Vancouver were really atrocious. There was a lot of huge networking issues, mostly because of the venue along with some lack of advertising and knowledge. So many people had NO idea that WCG was even happening.
Who is this guy? ^

Lol, don't pretend that Fly didn't play well.

Hopefully Lyn's got his act together for today, otherwise he won't even make it through to playoffs.

It's your first time WCG right? I'm surprised how well it's going this year. Thanks to twitch tv at least streams are decent quality (but WCG works hard on being behind the schedule and adding some technical problems).
Please be patient.

This is true, but when most of the top Koreans aren't there, and you have CombatEX in the tournament(dafuq?), can you blame people for thinking that its a joke?

yeah I can. The CombatEX situation is because he played well in his nationals, nearly qualified, and then was asked to come play since the other players backed out. You can look at his history all you want, but if someone wins enough games to qualify, that's a joke? And these days unless half of Code S is in a tourney then for some reason people don't take it as seriously, even though having a tournament where every top non korean and korean plays is practically impossible and people are going to miss tournies here and there for a variety of reasons. I'm not here on a crusade or anything I'm just slightly fed up with people saying a tournament blows because it doesn't have every top player in it. Also, MarineKing and PartinG are playing in this
