Build order wise Combat had that should have waited until 3 zealots, made a core at home and instead of wishing GL should have bm'd. Combat if he had stuck to his BM guns would have theoretically shot him dead. Amazing games best of luck to Combat in the future man I was spinning in my chair when he won game 2 amazing. Unban him now. Ya'll should be embarrassed for doubting Combat.

I dunno... if you wait until you have 3 zealots, then Parting for SURE has one stalker (and a zealot) out and I think you've lost your timing.

I say if WCG has any honor left they should just ban people like combatex...

did he cheat in the series? no
was his game entertaining? yes
Almost an upset? yes
Did he bm? No, technically. unless you think typing in game is BM.

Standard game doesn't always produce the interesting game and that is what's wrong with SC2 right now.
I would prefer to watch that series 1 time than PvZ 10 times

I'm not talking about this game, somebody who has cheated in the past shouldn't even be allowed to try to qualify. Combatex got enough "2nd" chances from this community, in fact he has enough to probably give ever member of tl one, WCG, or any tournament organizer for that matter, should not allow someone like that to even play in their tournaments. And thats not even taking to account how much of a cheating sack of shit he was in star 1...

Cheating in ladder matches? People like TT1, Dimaga, etc all cheated in ACTUAL tournaments in BW. Don't get on your high horse for stream cheating when other players who have done far worse have been forgiven.

Both are wrong, one is worse than the other.

TT1 apologized. And Dimaga wintraded in a tournament that he would've qualified for anyway. Not quiet the same.
Also both Dimaga and TT1 have recieved punishment for their actions and were barred from tournaments. Combatex is getting away scott free.

depends. parting might not have produced the stalker for whatever reason and he definitely wouldn't have thrown chrono boosts on it if he didnt see the first zealot.

Combat-EX got a big mouth. Without the big mouth, what he did doesn't even need any attention from the community.

Big mouth got him some fame and also trouble.

So mouthing off/stream cheating ladder is worse than cheating in actual tournaments? I'm not saying that Combat doesn't act like a retard from tiem to time. But it is obvious that people have been forgiven having done much worse shit to "e-sports".

Wintrading is cheating but you kindly elected not to mention what his crime was and equated it to streamcheating/maphacking. As i edited in, both TT1 and Dimaga were in fact also barred from tournaments.
And other people following Combatex more closely might elaborate on his apology, i do recall some drama surrounding it as well.

I didn't say anything about maphacking, just that they cheated. Cheating in a tournament is just that, cheating. They got banned from the tourney they cheated from, not WCG or anything like that. Just TSL.

I wasn't around when combatex did bad things so I'm not entirely aware of what he did and how bad it was, but right now he just seems to me like a guy who likes to have fun and enjoy himself, and bm's in chat to do so... he still stays respectful when it's needed so it really looks like its only done in good fun and well ... he performed pretty well there so ...

You've got a point, but Combat EX qualified and made his (improbable) run "fair and square". These things happen sometimes, due to variability, and he's got a decent enough base of skill to make this sort of unlikely thing even a possibility.

But anyways, I think there's an alternate way of looking at this. There's a side to this where Combat EX knows he's outclassed in this match, but he wants to make the most out of this - probably - once in a lifetime experience. And he did it with his characteristic BM'ing (which was half light-hearted and half trolling/unsportsmanlike), but in the end he showed respect to Parting when he went over to him in person.

In short, I don't think he's a sociopath. Definitely not a COMPLETE sociopath, anyways...

Comming from the FPS community, those manners discutions really hardly make any sense to me, can anyone explain why starcraft is so entitled to that? Is really any typing in chat during a game seen as that much of a bad thing?

Then i dont get what the big deal is. Sure, you can call him obnoxious, you can hate him, you can want to punch him in the face, but i dont understand how people can say he should be banned from every tournament for cheating in something that is basically practice. would you ban a football player for cheating (facemask etc,) in practice? people might not like him but if he was good enough to play the game and played it properly when it mattered, he would be able to play.
