He's not there, so sure he can possibly get into top6. But if you ask about WCG 2 days ago, you would say sure he can win this WCG, at least silver.
Easy tournament, easy money, and nation pride, ofc it was a good choice.

I wouldn't say he stands a good chance against Hero and Violet at all. 50/50 at best (for him).
He stood a much better chance against Lowely than either of them. -_-

plenty? name 10, and for reference: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=296755#13
keep in mind that all the players you list need to have a worse description than that combat-ex one associated with them, and are still adored by the community

Not the fact that 'a little bming gm cheater playing one of the best players in the world is more entertaining than watching 2 extremely good players go add (sic) it'. It's the fact that the people in the community think that's the problem with the community lmao. I don't have anything against or for CombatEX, but I'd rather him be unbanned from everything, regardless of what he did in the past, and have people like Lorch permabanned from teamliquid.
The problem with the community is that no one wants to watch exciting series. They think a drawn out macro fest is the 'correct' play when there is no such thing. Whenever someone produces an exciting game, it's because there's not a drawn out macro game, and then they get ostracized for cheesing. FUCKING MVP gets shit for cheesing and hes arguably the best SC2 player so far.
As soon as the community gets over the idiotic idea that there is a way to play the game, then it'll open the doors to a whole new world, both for pros not feeling obligated to play 'right' and for the players themselves who might learn to stop cheese if they would respect it
Edit: I would like to add, that although stream cheating on ladder is low, and I in no way condone it, it breaks no rules of literally anything. Doesn't break Blizzard TOS, doesn't break tournament rules, doesn't break the law, doesn't break the stream site's TOS.
I agree with this. There is no "correct way to play." CombatEx is one of the most entertaining players to watch and hes skilled enough to not look foolish . So many people in this community seem to think that BM/cheese = low skill. By all means, go ahead and try to cheese your way into WCG or any other tournament. In saying that, Combat has a pretty solid standard game as well (as we just witnessed) yet there is still so much whining about him. I cant remember the last time I was emotionally invested in a game but this series just made me a Combat fan lol.
Also, to people saying he was bming in these games, are you serious? Cant people recognize the difference between in game banter and straight up malicious intent? The impression I got from him was that he really respected parting and was hyped to have the chance to play against him. He ran over to partings booth at the end of the game and had a laugh with him, wishing him luck for the next round etc. He was playing the BWC champion and was probably trying to relax a little by all the talking. I think parting was enjoying it too, grinning everytime and even sending combat a T_T in game 1. Just some fun chit chat between 2 players in what is normally a very strict atmosphere.

Sure, you can call him obnoxious, you can hate him, you can want to punch him in the face, but i dont understand how people can say he should be banned from every tournament for cheating in something that is basically practice. would you ban a football player for cheating (facemask etc,) in practice? people might not like him but if he was good enough to play the game and played it properly when it mattered, he would be able to play.
I agree. While he has had some not-so-good behavior in the past, he has never legitimately cheated or done anything to warrant a ban from a tournament. As shown in this tournament, he is just a player that likes to fun in-game, but also has a healthy respect for opponents greater than him. He conducted himself very well tonight. People seriously need to loosen up a little bit and stop jumping on the "everybody hate CombatEX" train. My respect for him as a player and as a person certainly has increased.

WCG is a shit feast compared to the quality of players at IPL. IPL is the most stacked tourney in a long time.

So let's ban him from tournaments preemptively, because who know? He might have cheated.. Imagine this logic being applied widly among all tournaments.. Did I say that? I think I missed something. You indirectly implied that the fact it's not proven he has never cheated in tournament is important, which of course is not. That's a kind of ambiguous sentence. Can you clarify what you mean ? Edit: I mean, it looks like you mean that a player who is not proven to have never cheated should be considered as suspicious. There are too many negations in the sentence so it's not ez to understand what u mean actually.

Likewise, although I'd say he should stay banned from teamliquid. He made his mistakes and deserved to get banned. He bashed teamliquid and their mods a lot, but again, that has nothing to do with his in game skills and manners during tournaments. It's ridiculous people think he should be banned from tournaments.

Sure, I mean that in now way he should suffer penalties without being proven to cheat in lan tournament enviroment.

CombatEx took a game off Parting and I missed it?! VoD?!
|
Am I the only one surprised to see Adel here after winning vs Fenix who won vs Parting ? Ok Fenix win over Parting was a BO1 but still Fenix is not bad in TvP at all. Adel looks in good shape for this tourney, I guess he prepared a lot :D I will definitely root for him tomorrow ! He just need to win vs Lowely, being in the finals would already be a huge result for him.
|
Best part of this WCG has passed. Or maybe Parting gets eliminated by Macsed, then that will be the high point of this tournament.

man combat and lowely are both BOSS!!
