Bogus 3- 0 :O
Regarding the imbalance, hilarious to see Zergs defending themselves....

the fact that different players seem to win and lose all the time in sc2 is not something to be happy about imo. it shows the game is badly designed, or at the very least is nowhere near figured out yet. of course if the same person would actually win all the time, it would be really boring too, but being even just a little bit better than your opponent SHOULD give you a much bigger chance of winning the game. alas, it does not.

really thought it was Leenock's time... pretty surprised by the last four standing! excited to see new contenders (although most of them are not "new")

I really hate the people spouting off nonsense about how bad this is. The players who win advance. That's how it is, that's how it should be. All of these players defeated fantastic players to get to this point. Who the fuck are you to say they don't deserve it.

Anyways, GO HYUN!

So, in 2012 we'll have four new GSL champions and one repeat champion ( Mvp )

I wonder if this will continue or if it will stabilize next year and we will start seeing multiple title players again.

I guess it really depends on HOTS since there will only be one more WOL GSL.

If things continue to go as they are now with little consistency and new champions every season I doubt we'll ever see Mvp's GSL records be broken.

I don't see Mvp's records being broken for a loooong time. Its much harder to win a GSL in 2012 thanks to tournament length and tougher competition.

I agree.
There is too much randomness in SC2.

Boxing is so random. Anyone can beat anyone and the sport is so volatile. There is too much randomness in boxing.

Any time you have an elimination tournament, you are going to have upsets. You only need to lose 2-4 maps to drop out of the running. If you want a "fairer" tournament, have everyone play round robin instead.

I don't have the statistics but I guess that few people have more than 50% correct on their liquibet this season. Normal seasons I get like 60% correct.

SC2 is so damn competitive at top top level. 50 top players in the world can easily win each other on a good day.

Actually I would really like to see this. I was excited about NASL's format (and I still am), but they fall short in several other respects.

I'd die to see a proleague-style round robin without all-kill format including Kespa and ESF teams, too.

A GomTvT final in December 2012? Would really be the surprise of the year.

Can't see Hyun standing up to Bogus, not after today's games. That was just code S vs Master league. Sniper can beat Ryung, but I'm still betting on Ryung for that one.

Wow I can't believe that Leenock lost! Both Life and Leenock out! I wonder if these other zergs can keep up the level to take the trophy ! I guess it goes to show that some people are just way better in certain mu's !

Edit: Yay finally 2 000

Anyways, GO HYUN!

How the semi-finalists reached the semi-finals:
Hyun
Bye vs Rain
1-2 vs Yoda
2-1 vs Gumiho

2-0 vs Yoda
1-2 vs MKP
2-1 vs Hack

3-1 vs Creator

Bogus
0-2 vs Leenock
2-0 vs Squirtle
2-0 vs Keen

2-1 vs Sniper
2-0 vs Polt

3-0 vs Soulkey

Ryung
2-1 vs Vampire
0-2 vs Life
2-1 vs Vampire

1-2 vs Curious
2-0 vs DRG
2-0 vs Curious

3-1 vs MKP

Sniper
2-1 vs Seed
1-2 vs MKP
2-0 vs Sos/Shy

1-2 vs Bogus
2-0 vs Parting
2-0 vs Polt

3-0 vs Leenock

None of those strike me as very impressive runs. And many of the games were won because the opponent played poorly. All four of them looked bad in the ro32 and were lucky to get into the ro16. Only once did one of them manage to finish first in a group, and that was when Bogus finished ahead of Sniper.

Wow what a spanking ! Bogus is the new Life. His execution is just flawless, makes MVP looks like a sloppy player.

I can definitely see Hyun standing up to Bogus if he plays like IPL Hyun. One sided series always cause a bit of overration, Soulkey played quite well after putting himself behind in game 1, game 2 was just a BO loss really once he didn't scout the 2fact and played extremely greedy (no RW, no spores, would have lost to hellion/cloak banshee as well). Game 3 was just about the same BO loss, such a late pool against a 2 rax on closer positions is already extremely hard to hold off even with good micro, and Soulkey just seemed dejected and tilted after his second loss, showed awful micro. He can micro way better than that.

I expect a close series, and I actually expect Hyun to win it, if he plays at the top of his game. We haven't seen yet how Bogus handles BL/Infestor on even econ.

I expect Ryung to beat Sniper, but who knows, since Sniper just doesn't care about who he's supposed to lose to.

Ryung looked BAD in Ro32? Are you serious? Did you watch his TvZs against DRG and Curious, or are you just talking out of your ass? He played near perfect TvZ.

Did you watch the ro32? He scraped by vampire and was crushed by Life. Youre talking about the ro16

In the ro16 he was awesome, I agree. He looked very strong. But as Shellshock said, in the ro32 he barely scraped past Vampire. That's what I meant. Since then he has been great but his start wasn't up to the same standard.

And what's your point? "They played better than their opponents, they shouldn't be in the semifinals"? Everyone is whining because all the favorites are out. Get over it.
