Koreans always dominate everything so long as they're not massive outnumbered.

Why do you even watch Sc2 if you get bored by Koreans always winning?

Well to be honest it is probably many that don´t because of it, few things are hurting the expansion of SC2 as much as the Korean dominance.

=__= "Oh no the best players are beating the worse players, that is why our game is dying." It would be a problem if the Koreans WEREN'T dominating... How do people not understand this and continue with their biased and racist mentality? Fuck, so depressing.

Was a cool event, although there were some stream issues with production and stuff. Maybe I was expecting much higher quality stream, and production because Blizzcon's are usually amazing. Part of it could just be China, so it is harder to get resouces they need there. The games were all pretty awesome, but I couldn't help but think, why is DRG, Nestea, MVP, MKP, Life, not the Koreans who are there. Not to take away from the ones there you know. I guess at the end of the day I would give the actual event 7/10. I feel like Blizzard could have done more to make it feel special, and to improve the production. But I do hope they do another one of these, because while the GSL may have the highest level of SC 2 played, It isn't international and it is cool to say, hey Parting is the World champion.

This tournament was pathetic. Lag, sound issues, streams dying, no player reactions, and too little variety in terms of match-ups and gameplay. The only thing this had going for it was the prize pool. Grats to Parting, but Blizzard failed massively with their own tournament.

I never had any issues with the streams dying or lagging when I watched. The quality of the streams was pretty poor, and what do you mean by player reactions? Players celebrating hard in their booth when they won a match? Blizzard can't do anything about that. Blizzard also cant fix the matchup issue when every good Korean Terran either dropped out, or didn't even play in WCS Korea.
PartinG fanboy to the max, Rain/Squirtle/Dear/Scarlett/Bbyong are cool too. I don't always watch Dota2 but when I do I have no clue what's going on. GOGO POWER RANGERS

I think WCS world finals were pretty boring compared to europe finals.
The skill level was very homogenous at the europe finals, every local star had some time to shine and world final was just that a lot of interesting characters got already knocked out in group phase. Then they had a lot of korean protosses and some zergs. Which lead to almost no terrans after group phase and very protoss heavy from semifinals onwards.
NA players did do suprisingly well. Dunno why, usually i wouldnt think fenix would beat socke that easily for example. maybe some had issues with jet lag... its way harder to travel eastwards than travelling westwards. but nevertheless very good performance overall from NA, i dont want to take too much away from them. I feel kinda bad, because european pros often smack talk about the NA-servers and i actually believed it. dunno what the excuse may be for those bad results^^
Socke was really good in his first map vs partinG in my opinion... only lost because parting was imba with dodging so many stalker shots with blink. that was insane.

Im really happy that i didnt stay up that long to watch some of it. because i would have regretted it. Times were ridiculous for europe. I could have watched the end in the morning to early to noon but since im a terran player i have no interest in watching korean pvp.

Production was also pretty crappy... lots of technical issues on day 1. Europe players fail against NA, the leftovers get dominated by the koreans. Wasnt really enjoyable.

I really hope they revise the format of this competiton next year it was free money for semi decent NA players that would lose to the100th best Korean most of the time.

Would be nice if there was an open bracket, ie a format similar to IPL5 or an MLG, so that qualified players have an advantage but we still get the possibility of seeing great players that didnt qualify. To call it a world championships is laughable when so many of they worlds best players were missing.

well i guess the real world finals would be Code S or MLG finals skillwise. Those WCS finals just didnt have a homogenous skill-level.
I guess you can only solve that by inviting no koreans at all or mostly koreans (atleast 70-90%)

MLG feels more prestigious to me which is what this event should have been all about but it turned out to be a $100k give away.

Uhmm if you change it in to a open bracket you shouldn't call it the world championships either because it would become a Korean Open Championship.

They way Blizzard did it was good (if they would have dropped the direct seeds it would have been almost perfect) and it is used in all sports all over the world. People who think that a World Championship always have the best competition clearly dont understand the principle of a World Championship.

Almost anyone in the world had a chance to enter, some didn't make it and some choose not to participate and thats it. The fact that there are better players in the world who weren't there doesn't mean it's not a World Championship.

Maybe we europeans arent used to watch a world championship and have no one to root for after group stage^^

but in the end of a world championship you have a legitimate champion. At least in football it is like that. I dont feel it is like that in sc2

Overall, it was a clusterfuck. There were ridiculously long breaks between games, and when the streams weren't simultaneously down or running at one frame per second we were exposed to awful, awful ZvZ and PvZ

There were still some good games, though. There were a few upsets in Groups D, E, and F, so if you want to see Idra and BabyKnight laying the smackdown on KeSPA players you might want to watch those VODs. The Korean Protosses in particular played very well, so if you don't know what to watch you could start with those. Personally, I would recommend Rain's and Parting's matches, lots of insane micro and/or high-level play during those games, though even those are a mixed bag

Not sure if some of you understand the concept of a world championship. It's on the model of WCG, the World Cup, etc. The point is to have representatives from each country/region, whether that creates "homogeneous skill level" or not. The appeal of the tournament is not designed to be the fact that it's a competition of the 32 best players in the world. So you're whining without a valid reason to do so...so I guess you fit right in in a LR thread LOL.

You are treating this like an invitational. Hint: It wasn't. All players that were here were here because they qualified. That means that the best zerg/terran players weren't here BECAUSE the best protoss players defeated about all of them in the qualifiers. Why do you think only 2 korean zergs were able to qualify, 0 korean terrans, yet 5 protosses?

You know as soon as you type in teamliquid.net in your browser the first thing you see is who won, right?

._.

It's just how they do things now. You can click a box in your settings (the thing that looks like a flower) so they it won't be displayed.

I love how the zergs and protoss always go at one another after the match-up and someone loses.

You guys have to understand that match-up has been flawed since the beginning and that's the way it's supposed to be played for protoss to gain the edge, or else the late game can give the Zerg a huge advantage.

We've seen it time and time again, so instead of crying imbal you should accept it for what it is because it hasn't really changed much since the beginning. Protoss really do need to rely on strong timings in order not to be overrun.

If you take a Zerg to the late game you are asking for trouble.
