What do you expect when there are several streams with good commentary for FREE compared with PPV for MLG. Its not even about the cost of the PPV its just its so much more convenient to just be 1 click away from any of the dreamhack streams.

Game 1: I only caught the end but it looked like a failed 11/11 from Baby and he gg'd as soon as lings got to his barracks. Game 2: Baby goes for another double rax but this time 12/14. Soo manages to lose no drones and only a couple of lings to the attack and then follows up with a ling bane roach attack of his own. Baby was transitioning into a marauder marine blue flame hellion comp but lost all his hellions and marines and from there the roaches and lings cleaned up the marauders.

Funny how MLG didn't show any Baby games AT ALL, so we have no idea how he play TvZ. These are the most one-sided losses you can imagine for someone who was 44-4. Thing is though there are hardly any good zergs on the MLG side.. (actually 0?)

Seen it +100 times to day. Really hard on you when you try to make the stream work.

He held the 6 pool surprisingly..... but he GG'd after seeing a couple BL's and not being able to take down Soo's 4th base. With no vikings and only 1 starport... his 4th base down he was pretty fucked.
Soo sixpooled against cc-first, gas-first (no rax). Soo then pulled drones too for his rush, Baby lifted off his cc, built a hidden rax to get out marines and retake his main. Went into standard marine tank with hellions, Soo had roach ling infestor composition, had a slight lead throughout, took and held a 4th on antiga, got gglords, baby instantly gg'ed without even taking damage, just losing an engagement on soo's side. Preemptive gg's by baby game 1 and 3. Not a good series thus far. Just good for the novelty of these new players.
We are aware that there are currently some issues with the viewing stream including receiving a black screen and trouble viewing any quality other than HD.

That works thanks but I'm still a bit confused why the other link shows a different game since it's the one I've been using previously without any issues (was a while ago though).

I felt Artosis really miscalled the game for most of the early part. Life got hard countered/ deflected (his early pool/mutas) but he was never severely behind at all. Map control, extra bases, able to take a small supply lead, he was doing fine, but Tastosis made it seem like MVP was way ahead.
And btw, now with all this tourney saturation, I'm REALLY starting to get why ppl hate the deathball syndrome. That last game between soo and Baby was so "one big army vs another big army".. lame.

...and now it works again. CHANGE NO SETTINGS NOW PLZ.
Regarding the stream, I noticed before the show started, it was doing some weird transfer where it would jump from 1million bytes received to 0 bytes constantly cycling every second. Like a wave instead of a smooth stream.
Such a joke. Chrome lags like hell, cant get through the paywall on IE or Firefox even though Ive logged in . and I cant even tell when Im on the right stream because I have to watch a minute of adds on a ppv.

There is 2, 30 second commercials at the beginning of the stream, which wouldnt be so bad if you didnt have to refresh a bunch when the stream doesnt work.

Someone should start a poll. It's been good for me the vast majority of the days, but the last few couple have seemed glitchy. More annoying than GOM crashes, that's for sure. Changing browsers, reloading, the stream seems to leak memory or something. Really unacceptable for like the 8th event of the year.

This is a good series so far. Top tier play. EffOrt is serious business. Spent a lot of time in BW telling people he was the best player ever :/ Didn't quite work out in reality, but I still believe that potential is very real.

No he had minerals too during the Broodlord vs Thor fight, he didn't build anything until all the BLs were dead, only then built the Roaches. Maybe he couldn't decide.
God damn that was a sick game! I was starting to lose faith in TvZ's as much seem to be turtle to late late game then armies clash and GG. But this game was sweet, lots of back and forth battles. And seriously Effort? That roach burrow play was absolutely dirty.. Can we just send both these guys to Dallas and not send someone from NA? Please?
I don't know who to cheer for. Both players are playing awesome and showing great games, and I usually cheer for both of them. I guess I just want games like that again, no matter who wins.
I've had my annoyances with this tournament, but that game was just about worth the 10 dollars right there. So many tense and long battles, you almost never see that in SC2.
Are they actually playing amazingly or is itjust inherent hype because it's flash and effort? Not trying to downplay anyone/thing, genuinely curious (didnt pay for the pass)

I love Day9 but honestly his casting recently has been kind of mehhh... He is still funny/awesome on daily shows and such but I would prefer to keep Axslav and Axeltoss tbh. They are really solid, give them a proper observer so both can focus on casting and they really can rival any caster combination.

great comparison. It's why I cringe when I see mech tvz. marine tank is just constant action, wave after wave after wave of units. It's like watching flash in bw streaming 10 marines every couple seconds

This map is wayy to big for effort to really do a roach bane all in... Roaches too slow. A speedling/baneling all in might work ebcause you can run lings quickly across the map etc.

Kinda weird choice by effort to go for the roach ling on that map no? Too long of a walk for the roaches if you get scouted when you leave your base there's plenty of time for Flash to make the best decisions possible.
What happened to BaBy? He finished first with 44-4 and then loses another four games just in this round, falling short of getting the ticket. That hurts.

The strongest Zergs he faced to get that record were Hawk and Vibe.
Yeah, doing well in the round robin was mostly about consistency versus players a lot worse than you (with a few exceptions) on hostile servers with higher latency. It doesn't say everything about your strength as a player.

MLG couldn't have known that when they were planning this a month plus in advance. Remember how terrible hybrid SC2 proleague started? Maybe they would guess that the top 4-5 players could beat every American, but the absolute domination by almost all 24 Kespa players was unprecedented.

By sheer numbers, perhaps. But here's Code S next time: Hero, Taeja, MVP, MKP, Life, Symbol, Leenock, Squirtle, and let's say Hyun, Parting, Bomber from up-downs. Can even Rain really best all of them again?

Excuses made by NA players to keep up the illusion of them being able to compete with Koreans.
NA players like idra make more money than almost all koreans so why should idra actually practice any harder? He doesn't need to. This is why the NA scene will always be behind EU and KR. You only need a modicum of skill to break out and then you stagnate because you have already "made it."

Most of Idra's income is salary and stream revenue, tournament winnings is only a small portion. As long as he has a following, he will continue to make a good living.

GSL is the biggest league. OSL is around still, but not as popular anymore. This isn't really a big tournament; it's entirely PPV so it doesn't get a whole lot of attention. OSL and GSL have free live streams, but you need to pay for VODs and HD stream.

you can't be serious they just need to make a system in which american players will advances too, because it will increase popularity and blah blah blah
I'm sure next year they will have inter-divisional play in the regular season and just do like 1 game against everyone in the league. That will even out the records significantly.

Ok MLG, we your paying customers will be patient with this... you have a few matches remaining in the MvP invitational to fix it. If there will be no improvement very soon, we might be better off keeping future spending on GSL, and maybe even OSL (it's actually decent vs the current state of your online VOD management).
I just bought the pass. I also had the problem with the loading screen. I found that you have to wait until the entire video is done loading (which takes a while) before the video starts. Hopefully they can fix this problem soon.

I apologize for this inconvenience. I have reported this issue.
With so many zergs left to face (winner of Soulkey v Jaedong), Rain may not want to show his best builds vs zerg. Since he has to play DRG in the finals of OSL. Even playing standard, DRG stands to learn a lot about Rain's playstyle. Unfortunate for Rain.
Just watched vods of first 5 maps. Very high entertainment value. Why, you ask? Because Effort doesn't rush infestor+hive. He did on Ohana, kind of, and that was by far the most boring game of the first 5. On the other maps he played some oldschool style with ling bling muta and added a personal touch with his nydus on antiga and roach drop/burrow play on daybreak. (Although he did throw that daybreakgame, should've easily won if he stopped remaxing on roaches 5 times). Really reminiscent of the most beautiful era in sc2 so far, when TvZ was still amazing.
