The Evil Geniuses Masterís Cup Series League will feature 12 teams in a round robin format with each team matchup containing at least four best of three games between two teams. The top four teams at the end of the season will advance to the playoffs on a two day live broadcast weekend.
Pomi 1-2 JYP, JYP should be way better on paper and has better stats, although Pomi could always surprise in a PvP.
LiveZerg 1-2 Stephano, LiveZerg has good ZvZ and can take a game but Stephano is Stephano and will take the series.
TitaN 2-0 Puma, Puma is struggling, I'm a huge TitaN fanboy, and TitaN bounced back from his 1-9 defeat against TvP monster Kas in Pokerstrategy League by 3-0'ing him in Ritmix RSL.
fraer 2-0 Thorzain, I'm also a huge fraer fanboy and fraer is a really tricky player to go up against, he has sick builds and great control. Thorzain hasn't looked amazing in the past apart from his play today in the GD invitational.
Ace: Stephano 1-2 TitaN
Cause I want RoX.KIS to win and TitaN has already beaten Stephano once, he could do it again.

The casters in this tourney have done a really good job of sitting through their team getting absolutely slaughtered in each series this season. Must be really hard, I feel bad for them.

Hopefully today will be the exception.
I wouldn't call losing every game in the ace match absolutely slaughtered

Surprising that EG didn't win a single ace match considering their roster, they really are a bit unlucky this season but the overall results are certainly very disappointing.

Well, isn't this the first time they get to use Stephano?
That was a really nice match, I feel like puma under commited to vikings as titan over committed to colossi but the entire match was an uphill climb since he let all of his ghosts get insta melted at the start of a fight allowing the HTs to flank.

Still, with Puma/JYP/HuK playing those, losing to Major/Apocalypse/Goswser/Dark isn't unbelievable but four ace matches in a row is surprising to me.
I still think fraer has an edge over Thorzain, ROX.KIS can do it, continue the EG MCSL Curse! ;-))
I still don't know if fraer is good or not, sometimes he can play really well but other times he looks like he has no right to be on any progaming team (For an example of that look at his series vs kas in the TSL).

Him, Hyun and Nerchio are the bane of every online cup. If you can be named in the same sentence as these guys, you're not that bad.

Seems like a consistency issue then as I've seen some downright terrible play from him that would never make me think of him as a hyun/nerchio level terror.

Well, he's obviously not really as good as those two right now, but if you look at for example the ZOTAC cups, you can't deny a certain consistency in fighting through all these BO1 cups. Not many players are getting so far all the time.

Guess Lucifron, Ret and Nightend are all even worse.
Where are these games from?
Anyway, he looks much worse to me, at least, in basically every single game I've seen of him lately (which doesn't include these ones).
Asus ROG GD invitational, played today.. ^^
But yeah he's definitely not at a high currently, but today at least he showed better play than in a long time imo so perhaps we're seeing a resurgence hopefully!
Also GG RoX.Kis so strong, too bad they're kinda overshadowed by Empire, they truly are a top team.

I don't think his performance at DH was a fluke, but he is still relying a bit too much on cheeky builds and not that much on macro.
I don't think it was a fluke either but it's just I'm not entirely sold, hyun took his sweet time to truly emerge as a monster so I'll give fraer some time as his online results are impressive (Iirc he want on an insane win streak and got to second on international TLPD with it)

He really does weird shit sometimes, but I just like to watch him play.
He has sick PvP and quite good PvZ although it's a bit all-in heavy, I really enjoy his macro PvZs, he loves to use warp prisms. PvT is a bit of a weak spot imho, he often does blink builds and wins with gate-pressure after expanding, haven't seen to many late-game wins without the early-game having influenced the game already.
But pros also seem to regard him highly, I'm on their side.

Actually, I'd say EG is doing quite well in the Teamleagues, since it is very likely they will advance to the playoffs of the IPTL (unless they get all killed), which in my opinion is more prestigious and important than this. At least they are doing well in something...
That being said, EG's performance in their own tournament is straight up embarassing. It's hilarious almost.

Draw dark vs livezerg, fraer vs arthur and titan vs miso and rox.kis can get a pretty good match going.

Also, if they send out KDY again, ROX would almost have a free win. Miya, Miso, Arthur and KDY would be a great lineup.

No offense, but the competition here isn't really that stiff here. It would be apalling if Slayers wasn't undefeated. Slayers is still doing ok in the IPTL, but their huge loss to EG will likely mean their downfall unless EG can pull out the win.

You only need to win two games to force an ace match and win. Some teams should have two better players on their roster than the SlayerS C-Team. They beat Fnatic without needing an ace match, that was pretty disappointing,
