Does anyone know if who plays who is decided before the match? You'd think Idra would be a good match against State and JYP would be better against Hawk, rather than having them both play mirrors. I know Idra's ZvZ is statistically his best or whatever but there's always that element of risk.

Shame about the Puma/StC games though, I love watching Puma's TvT - probably some of the only TvT I actually like watching.

And I want to see the others playing too! I like the ESEA clan matches when LzGamer, Machine and InControl play.

I think they send the players based on the maps so it is blind for both teams.

Yeah, that makes sense. Though that only really increases the chances of mirrors, as Zergs will think "this map is good for Zerg" and pick it and Terrans the same and so on.

I'm still torn between this and the all-kill format. I think this is a little more fair, but I like the added tactics of choosing snipers and whatnot.

Although you can still get into meta-picking, like "If this map is good for Zerg and the other team is likely to field their really good Zerg player, we'll field our Zerg sniper"

Anyways, I'm going with 4-0 for Evil Geniuses.

I'm gonna say 3-1 EG. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see 2-1s across the board. I think StC is just a little bit better than Puma right now.

All kill is definitely more exciting, but for an online league i think i prefer this format. I'm glad that we have multiple team leagues using multiple formats, its interesting to see how the teams do under different formats.

disappointing to see EG lose with the lineup they put out

surprised they had JYP ace though, when it seems like QxG would put out either STC or apocalypse

Argh, EG don't turn into IM >.< have the amazing roster and start playing people in the wrong matches etc >.<

Puma/Stephano the best and most inform players in EG (imo)(was always Puma but now Stephano here he gets to be in that column too) so they should have those 2 alternate as the Ace if they are needed. So sad 0-2 to teams they should be beating!

State is actually pretty good, and has beaten players such as Gumiho, Shine, and Hyun. Plus PvP is still very volatile. Glad to see Quantic pull out the win after EG gained such an early lead.

If that's true, then maybe it's best to send another player out in a team league match instead and not use him as an ace though...

Who picks EG's line ups? I'm not questioning them as such, I'm just intrigued to know. Geoff is captain? Or is it evoli (general manager)?

They should have won tonight, JYP was unfortunate. I feel that Puma is a solid ace for EG to throw out, him or Stephano will typically be the ace I'd imagine: so tonight something must have just occurred!

I get the reasons to JYP ace though: he recently posted some strong PvT results and as such I do sort of get it.

Yeah, I contradicted myself and did question the line up.. Aha

Aha

I'd pick JYP over Puma in a heartbeat, I feel he has overall been a lot stronger lately.

Rare occasion where EG's koreans let them down. Still, once Stephano starts to play and Thorzain regains his form EG will be able to beat any team in this league (and they won't have room for many more losses if they want to make playoffs).

more goes into picking lineups than "who is the best"

As I said on page 1 demu/stephano couldn't play as they are at Valencia.
Huk is in korea (Puma / JYP are as well but can do better with the latency)

As far as the ace is concerned we thought JYP would face STC as STC is prob quantic's best AND he already beat Puma (our regular ace) but with JYP training almost exclusively for his code S group of MVP/MKP we thought it was a good draw. If you watch the games JYP had tremendously bad luck 1 game and then in game 3 he shat down his leg when he should have won

it happens!

ha, Ya, see where your coming from, I wanted EG to pull thru so bad that we become way to critical of certain games when pressure is high

What? You don't need to know iNcontroL on a personal level to call him Geoff. It's his name...

Yeah I guess, it's just I'm more used to people calling him by his screen-name than his actual name
So now people that call players Jos, Marcus, Greg, or whatever just don't sound the same

personally i think it's insulting for some one who doesn't know incontrol to call him by his first name. Theres a reason why people ask if it's ok to use the first name it's meant to be between friends/family not some random stranger that wants to critize him.

I actually said it during the broadcast. For like 5 minutes I went on about how much losses suck and we work hard to not have them happen.. I don't have to say it each time I speak about a loss we have.

How the hell does a team full of accomplished players like idra lose to a team that has players with no achievements like quantic and root?

Because that's not how competition works. Do you really think people with no achievements stay at no achievements for their life? Of course not. How do they get them? They beat teams that have some. Nothing new, and Quantic has some pretty good players, not to be underestimated. Also, it's weird that you name Idra, because he won his match 2-0..

Finished watching the VOD, that was heart wrenching. JYP messed his control at the absolute least opportune time in both game 3s. He probably feels worse then everybody else combined. Oh well, EG will avenge!

EG should just switch to an all kill format mid season so stephano can win everything for them. It is their tournament afterall, they can and should be able to do whatever they want.

For some reason that made me think about the Trial of the Xel'Naga tournament, have some maps where you can have all units die or something just to have a specific player win, it could actually be pretty funny

EG: hey lets run a tournament so people can see more foreign teams battle it out. lets also make a decent prizepool! We get sponsor exposure and people get games! yay us

TL Users: they are going to manipulate it so they can win

Man poor JYP </3

Must feel terrible to lose twice in a row, once in a normal match (the one that would have closed it out) and once in the ace match from up 1-0 each time ;__;

Well-played Apoc though!

Woah, loads of recent teamleague games have had some of the lesser players performing much better than expected against stronger opponents, awesome to see.

God I love both JYP and Apoc. Good to see Apoc winning though because I feel like he needs the momentum a bit more than JYP right now.
