As for Revel8, go read some of my posts. I fully support many foreign players such as Grubby for his passion and modesty and Naniwa & Mana for their dedication by going to Korea.

Stephano will go to GSL next year. I expect when that happens you'll still be shit-talking him. If you actually gave any credit to achievements in SC2 you would not bash Stephano. It is that simple. He is incredibly good for the SC2 scene. Helping bringing in viewers at this stage of the development of SC2 could be crucial in helping the long-term viability of the scene. He inspires lots of players around the world that Foreigners can be successful at this SC2 thing. 100,000 people watched that victory. Why on earth would you complain about that unless you have some sort of malicious agenda? It is almost like you resent SC2 being popular globally.

Wrong, I resent this kind of attitude:

- "I've already won" before the grand final even begun
- "More money in my bank account"
- "I gave him the first set to make him think he could win" after winning

Now close your eyes and put yourself in Vortix's shoes...doesn't that make you want to punch him in the face if someone said that to you? This isn't how a human being should act. And to think that this kind of personality is actually being embraced by a portion of the community is sickening. Look at Grubby and the way he even shakes someones hand before and after matches, you can see the real sincerity of the guy, and when hundreds and thousands of eyes on you, and sponsors are on the line, people should act professional and with good manners.

Are you a child? This is standard, it was ez money for Stephano. He had the right to say what he wanted. He traveled 40 hours before he even got to the event. Then, he showed up an hour before it started without his gear. Still fucking won, quit being so butt-hurt you bitch.

Drama queens at TL is not news. People being mad about Stephano's attitude is always funny.

People actually embracing his disgusting attitude is sickening. Its you people who probably see someone hurt and laugh, its people like me who go over and help them. People liking players for their arrogance or saying he has a right to be arrogant..what has the world come to? Have none of the younger generations heard of modesty?

Well, Stephano addresses his 'cocky attitude' in the press-conference. At ~3:25. According to him, he is being a showman. He is giving the people what they want.

Do you even know what banter is? You make it sound like Vortix is going to cry himself to sleep tonight. This is a competitive sport, arrogance such as Stephano's definitely has a place.

Banter is distinct from gloating, I made a post just up the page that you kindly ignored.

He's not gloating, you got to understand the context of this. In a competitive environment, arrogance of this sort isn't mean-spirited.

Showboating/trashtalking to hype things up, or psyche out your opponent is distinct from gloating afterwards when you have nothing to gain from it. Perhaps he wants to hype up a rivalry with Vortix, fair enough I mean Muhammed Ali did that kind of thing.

I don't actually mind it that much I'm more commenting as but people are comparing his showboating to MC's, when they're different. The latter as soon as the game is won will be pretty respectful to his opponent's efforts.

It's not hypocritcal of them to like MC's antics, but not like Stephano, in this instance. I'm speaking as someone who likes forthrightness and cockiness!

No man, he HELPS people. You don't get it, he is BETTER than us. we all just laugh at hurt people because we don't care that Stephano has a confident, showboating attitude that is so prevalent in any popular competition.

You may not like Stephano's attitude, but that doesn't give you the right to come on here and preach to other people that enjoying his shit-talking is "sickening" or "killing e-sports" or whatever. That's just, like, your opinion, man.

You're right. From the responses from many of the people here, I have come to a conclusion that to be successful, you have to be a jerk. I guess nice guys really do finish last. LOL.

Oh well, we will just have to wait until the World Championship to see

No man, he HELPS people. You don't get it, he is BETTER than us. we all just laugh at hurt people because we don't care that Stephano has a confident, showboating attitude that is so prevalent in any popular competition.

You make an excellent point. I actually believe Stephano attitude is one of the reason why he is so good. Stephano isnt afraid of anyone and when the hole world was shitting them self when the Korean superpower arived at the international tournaments and couldn't be stopped. Stephano came to IPL 3 with an "I don't give a shit who you are attitude"

I think its very important for any sportsman to have that winners mentality

Like when he did the Slice throat gesture to Idra before they play right ? it's not hypocritical anymore ?

BEFORE they played. If you would read ANYTHING of what I had posted you wouldn't make such an asinine comment.

3 consecutive posts of me pointing out that 'BM' before a match is different from BMing afterwards. MC at MLG when Idra beat him pools, and MC won 4-0 to take it on extended series didn't go round and go 'Oh he only took the first series because I let him'.

You don't have to be a jerk, but the turth is I much prefer Stephano's attitude and character over someone who just gives polite "humble" responses that you would expect. "I got lucky, things went well for me today, etc" are the boringest fucking interviews and adds nothing to the player's character. This is one of the biggest thing I didn't like about Koreans' interviews during BW, except for a couple exceptions like FireBatHero.

All the haters can keep on hating, because it's obvious that Stephano draws the crowds. Any tournament he is in, the stream numbers show it. Hell, look at the stream numbers as soon as he starts playing... they always spike and drop when he is done. Whole tournaments suffer when this guy is knocked out early (doesn't happen often...).

Much better, IMO, than half these guys who get up on stage and offer no conversation or emotion at all.

Naniwa can be as "passionate" about the game as he wants... doesn't seem to be getting him too far. Maybe money and success are better driving factors.

Freaking Stephano. :D He was here for 6 days.. didn't play a single game, flies for 20 hours.. shows up and wins. Just makes you mad. :D GG!

He was hanging out with NASL staff in California filming content and playing with his playmate Lauren just last weekend from Sat to Wed.

Hehe, you almost have to feel bad for other player at the events like Grubby, Lucifron, Thorzain etc. :D
Also players like Incontrol & Idra etc. who get so much shit for being "bad" at the game, yet they practices more than Stephano and he just rapes them ez.

Guess i can see why some ppl don't want him to act like that, especially when he so talented and don't practice.
When other people practices so much more and have a passion for the game and Esports, like Grubby etc..

So I can see why some people percive him as an arrogant ass.

I can virtually guarantee the stephano doesn't practice is an exaggerated myth that gets spread because of stephano's image.

Well I don't think people thinks he never practices, atleast thats not what I think. Surely he plays the game & practices! But from what a lot of people say, like Bling, Rotterdam and Stephano himself. It does not looks like he practices anywere near 8 hours or anything like that. Yet beats everyone easy, even Koreans like MC, HerO, Taeja and 99% of every foreigners. Most people he beats probably trains a lot more than Stephano.

Stephano kinda looks like an foreigner Stork or something.

What the fuck ? Stephano beats Taeja, MC and Hero easy ? Really ?
I hope WCS world will open fanboys eyes. Stephano is good, maybe the best foreign player. But he's just another foreigner for Top Korean players.

That's so not true. He's one of the best zerg there is period, after DRG and maybe curious and symbol, maybe them.

And Life, Hyun, Leenock, Violet, Cocoa, Sniper, and Lucky.

Possible to be even more bias? I mean even the worst Stephano hater would agree that he is at least top 5 zerg in the world right now. He's the player who earned the most money in 2012, 4th overall, he won 4 premium tournaments, he beats code A/S koreans every tournaments he plays in...

What do you want him to do?

EDIT: you forgot Destiny also.

Got to love all the nerds complaining that he is too cocky or cares about the money. He has personality, get over it.
The "Humble Korean" act doesn't fly with foreign audiences... it's boring. Nobody wants a guy to go up there and pretend he is so humbled by the experience, so grateful, bla bla bla. The dude just smashed the best Europe has to offer and took home a $25 grand. He should be hyped and he should be cocky.

Lol stupid haters who can't admit his talent:

Kevin van der Kooi ‏@RotterdaM08
Freaking Stephano. :D He was here for 6 days.. didn't play a single game, flies for 20 hours.. shows up and wins. Just makes you mad. :D GG!
https://twitter.com/RotterdaM08/status/247453316680937472

Not to mention a bunch of Kespa Zergs that will be Code S level very soon-- Roro/effort/hero etc.

Well, MC and Symbol think of him as top 3 zerg in the world.

You are irrelevant.
