As for Revel8, go read some of my posts. I fully support many foreign players such as Grubby for his passion and modesty and Naniwa & Mana for their dedication by going to Korea. Stephano will go to GSL next year. I expect when that happens you'll still be shit-talking him. If you actually gave any credit to achievements in SC2 you would not bash Stephano. It is that simple. He is incredibly good for the SC2 scene. Helping bringing in viewers at this stage of the development of SC2 could be crucial in helping the long-term viability of the scene. He inspires lots of players around the world that Foreigners can be successful at this SC2 thing. 100,000 people watched that victory. Why on earth would you complain about that unless you have some sort of malicious agenda? It is almost like you resent SC2 being popular globally. Wrong, I resent this kind of attitude: - "I've already won" before the grand final even begun - "More money in my bank account" - "I gave him the first set to make him think he could win" after winning Now close your eyes and put yourself in Vortix's shoes...doesn't that make you want to punch him in the face if someone said that to you? This isn't how a human being should act. And to think that this kind of personality is actually being embraced by a portion of the community is sickening. Look at Grubby and the way he even shakes someones hand before and after matches, you can see the real sincerity of the guy, and when hundreds and thousands of eyes on you, and sponsors are on the line, people should act professional and with good manners. Are you a child? This is standard, it was ez money for Stephano. He had the right to say what he wanted. He traveled 40 hours before he even got to the event. Then, he showed up an hour before it started without his gear. Still fucking won, quit being so butt-hurt you bitch. Drama queens at TL is not news. People being mad about Stephano's attitude is always funny. They should be banned for not having a brain.

Stage-interviews are serious business.. I think it would help you accept the world to realize that not everything should be taken at face value. But when you are as famous as Stephano, people can and will take things said at face value. Look at Orb and what happened to him, and he isn't even half as popular as Stephano. The bottom line is, when you are in the spotlight, every little thing said on camera needs to be carefully thought out with full awareness of the sponsors. Even when someone jokingly says something bad, there is such a thing as a bad joke and people can and will take offense to it.
Have you watched any other competitive game? If you can post results, then you have the right to smack talk anyone. If Stephano was some scrub calling out players, then his cocky attitude would be something to condemn. Look at Shaq, Michael Jordan, Floyd Mayweather Jr., etc. Haters gunna hate.

..aaanyways, here's a link to an interview/press-conference with Stephano, held after the finals. Napped from reddit. Plenty of room to either hate or appreciate right there ^^

Great event, great barcraft <3 Stephano definitely a deserving winner.

You don't have to like his personality. Do you also complain when all those GSL Finalists predict they will win 4-0? I bet you don't shit-talk MC for being extremely confident in his statements. Your problem is you constantly belittle Stephano's achievements in SC2. By doing so you are also belittling the abilities of all those players he has beaten in these tournaments. You are also trashing the achievements of all those Foreign players who have achieved less at this time than Stephano. Numerous Korean pro-gamers have heaped accolades onto Stephano for his achievements and abilities. Only someone with an agenda would presume to pretend they know better than the likes of Polt, MC, Nestea, Symbol and Jaedong with regards to Stephano's abilities. As Mock would say, if there was a tournament for bitterness you would be the one with a cheque for $24,000 dancing with a hot chick. You're drawing a false equivalency there. MC and others do their trashtalking/showboating before the game, not after it. You can be as brash as you want, it adds hype or whatever. Denigrating your opponent's efforts after you beat him (i.e without needing to hype it after-the-fact) is just a dick move.
Stephano only properly trash talks foreigners as well, interestingly. My personal theory behind this is that it is a mindgame, he's already the top foreign player and anyone going in will feel nervous and he's trying to take them further out of their comfort zone.
I don't think Stephano's particularly obnoxious on the whole I usually find him endearing enough, but I didn't like that attitude displayed post-final one bit.
