Great tournament with great games, especially Stephano vs Lucifron yesterday. DH delivers as always.

The "Humble Korean" act doesn't fly with foreign audiences... it's boring. Nobody wants a guy to go up there and pretend he is so humbled by the experience, so grateful, bla bla bla. The dude just smashed the best Europe has to offer and took home a $25 grand. He should be hyped and he should be cocky.

All the haters can keep on hating, because it's obvious that Stephano draws the crowds. Any tournament he is in, the stream numbers show it. Hell, look at the stream numbers as soon as he starts playing... they always spike and drop when he is done. Whole tournaments suffer when this guy is knocked out early (doesn't happen often...).

Much better, IMO, than half these guys who get up on stage and offer no conversation or emotion at all.

Naniwa can be as "passionate" about the game as he wants... doesn't seem to be getting him too far. Maybe money and success are better driving factors.

Humble Korean Act

Sorry but the only reason Stephano is popular is because he is white and can occasionally take down Koreans. Its racist, narrow-minded people like you, who have no idea about the enthusiasm of many Koreans who make me sick.

In other words:
1 Korean wins and is a bore = all koreans are boring?
1 foreigner celebrates in style = all foreigners celebrate in style?

LOL. Take your racism and GTFO out of Team Liquid.

Amen.

i`m a grubby fan and i get scared when i see ppl saying that acting like stephano is normal when you are good.

Grubby DO have personality and it`s a very inteligent person and he can still be humble and honest and NOT cocky.
Grubby and Ret fan, but a TERRAN player :D

This was definitely the best sc2 tournament this year. There's only one tournament that was even better and gave me the chills: The International 2 (To be fair, I guess it was the crowd and the insanely great casting). And no, I'm not (even) playing DotA2 ! All in all, great work Dreamhack !

Ya, its strange how Dreamhack can outperform MLG, with that said its the smaller details that MLG misses and that Dreamhack gets 100% right.

I don't think it's the smaller details. It's the entire structure of the tournament.

MLG is, first of all, PPV for half of its streams. Then you have these delays and advertisements that make up 20-30% of the tournament's time. Follow it up with them not showing the best games that people want to watch - ie Stephano's games the last MLG - and awkward awards ceremonies and the only decent thing you're able to say about MLG is that they have better competition in their tournaments due to flying in a lot of Korean pros.

The LAN party side of Dreamhack is an acquired taste. But when they beat MLG in everything else except for quad streaming technology, it's hard not to say that DH is better.

Guess you are right O_o.

Major props to the dreamhack crew who managed to put on an amazing tournament for the audience and stream viewers! An almost perfect tournament in my eyes. Superb production, casting, observing, and all the little details that matters (games starting on time, free HD stream, easy overview of matches).

Cheers DH and Blizzard!

Lol stupid haters who can't admit his talent:

Kevin van der Kooi ‏@RotterdaM08
Freaking Stephano. :D He was here for 6 days.. didn't play a single game, flies for 20 hours.. shows up and wins. Just makes you mad. :D GG!

He was hanging out with NASL staff in California filming content and playing with his playmate Lauren just last weekend from Sat to Wed.

Hehe, you almost have to feel bad for other player at the events like Grubby, Lucifron, Thorzain etc. :D
Also players like Incontrol & Idra etc. who get so much shit for being "bad" at the game, yet they practices more than Stephano and he just rapes them ez.

Guess i can see why some ppl don't want him to act like that, especially when he so talented and don't practice.
When other people practices so much more and have a passion for the game and Esports, like Grubby etc..

So I can see why some people percive him as an arrogant ass.

I'm a big fan of Stephano and I rooted for him, but I'll be honest it's a bit lame when he says he that all the tournament means for him is the money lol. Hopefully EG talks to him about how often he says that. Would be much easier to get behind him if he showed some passion for the game. It seems like he doesn't care much about competing :/.

So he plays for the money, he's cocky and not very passionate. Who cares? He's still a genius. He outplays people who practice twice as hard, he powers through marathon tournament after marathon tournament, he's constantly analysed and discussed but still people can't take him down. That's why I love him. He's so damn good at this game. I honestly don't care whether or not he's good or bad for esports, good or bad at PR, how he brands himself, where he vomits, all that bullshit. He's a magician when it comes to actually playing the game.

I think if eSports will ever be something like normal sports players should learn something about sportmanship , winning and earning $ shouldn't give you the right to be arrogant and act like a mercenary.

What a load of crap. Esport doing fine just look at this event. And don't mistake cockiness with unsportsmanlike. I never seen Stephano BM anyone

Its amazing how people confuse being full on arrogant (Idra) with being cocky in a funny way (Stephano).
And everyone seems to conveniently forget MC when they are whining about Stephano's personality.

I can virtually guarantee the stephano doesn't practice is an exaggerated myth that gets spread because of stephano's image.

It'll most likely have a total of four terrans period unless Redarchon or Infi somehow defy all odds and pull off a miracle.

If there's a single terran in the RO16 I'll be happy.

Have faith in infi, he tower rushed everyone in WC3 watch him bunker rush to WCS victory.

We can hope. I guess XY placed fourth in China, so maybe that means something... Probably has better odds than RedArchon who lost to HuK and Fenix in Blizzcon 2010 (not that that is particularly relevant). Arrrg, FOUR terrans is just really quite sad. It'll make it epic as fuck if they do well though. Lucifron seems like he has a chance of doing okay at least.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

Stop using the word hater, should be fucking banned. Not you in particular but just because people aren't sucking somebody's dick doesn't mean they're being a 'hater'. God worst term to crop up in common discourse in my living memory!

I view Stephano as a Michael Schumacher kind of figure, everyone will respect their ability as you simply have to. Not everybody will love the guy. You say 'he has personality deal with it', perhaps he has a personality other people don't like!

Grubby and Stephano both have personalities, but they're entirely different personalities that will attract different folks

True fucking statement.

Now did we just saw 100k+ viewers on stream? hooollaaaa!

PS Rachel looked good when giving nods and feedback, i thouroughly enjoyed those moments.

Thank you sir, also holy shit 100k? Is that a record of sorts?
