I'm sort of a BW person myself but I do enjoy SC2, quite a lot actually.
This whole BW vs SC2 thing is silly. I'm not a fan of my brothers on the BW side going balls to the wall attacking SC2, and vice versa. Why can't we just get along and enjoy the games and not cause any BS in between? Is that really that hard to ask? Reading some of the posts is massively depressing while looking for updates on the games.

Yeah just let him get on with it.
But I explain my reasoning in my posts and I welcome anyone to disagree with the points. But nobody ever actually produces an argument. They assert and they twist. Explain a flaw in my reasoning and I will listen.
Of course that "u mad" would be an exception.
Because no one really cares about whatever point it actually is that you're trying to make when it's sandwiched with all the smug flame baiting. A player we all expect to be really good beat a player who seems to be slumping compared to his previous domination. The time to start shouting that the domination of the clearly superior kespa players is beginning is not now, when there's no actual evidence for that.
If I were to listen to you, it would never be there. Everytime a player is slumping or playing below his standards. If that is the case, then I think the more reasonable explanation is that you're rating the GSL palyers based on their best. Not on their average. Kespa are already competetive with GSL, I think that is quite established.
I don't think that many people are denying that some kespa players can indeed play on GSL lvl. However isn't it normal that people want their favorite players to be on their best and when they play lower and get defeated they say it? DRG for instance has been mentally down ever since GSL/GSTL semi finals. SC has been in the hospital for quite some time. Does that mean that the kespa players didn't outplayed them? ofc they did. And i would love if some of them qualified for the next GSL. New players in a competition is always good. Oh and just a tip, don't seriously mention that article if you want to be taken serious. It was a bunch of nonsense that was written way to early on the basis that sc2 wouldn't evolve at all.
Because they are excuses. Has been mentally down? What does that really mean. How much worse is he playing? I can guarantee you that game three he played great. Effort was just better. Moreover, the validity of the claims of them playing below their standard are, well, questionable when it according to some happens every single time they lose. Note: I am not saying every time Kespa player has won, it has been the GSL player playing their best.
Who are you to tell me not to mention it? That article was essentially the opinion of any BW player at the time. Including mine. And it still is. And it makes sense. People just keep misunderstanding it and building strawmen.
It makes sense???? It made sense back when the game was a slugfest on 1-2 bases. Not anymore. The article is outdated, the game has evolved a lot from there and you should open your eyes and see that.
BW switchers completely taking over the SCII scene? The best of the BW pros are on a course to go top code S. And that is good, really good for the game, the viewership and the competition. But "SCII competition is a farce"? That was the main quote. Do you stand by it?
"I am saying that there are 300 current pros and semi-pros that have the potential to come in and dominate SC2 at any moment, with a latency of a few months from the day they switch. Among this group there are a notable few that CRUSH any other players in terms of raw talent and/or work ethic and/or ability to learn."
Crush any other players. Really? Does this happen? It has been a few months. Where's the "crush" of "everyone"? BW elitists just now celebrate (and happily flame since they won't get moderated) the first few victories. Do you still stand by this article, when it has been completely false?
But that is exactly the point. The competition was a farce at the time. It is not a farce now. It hasn't been a farce for a while. These players are good. But that was the part of the article that was relevant only at the time. The point of the article was that there are guys more talented and hardworking than MC for example. That is why they are expected to dominate eventually, not instantly (nobody ever claimed that) and maybe not even by the end of this year. But many think they will.

How much worse has he been playing? Just watch his match against creator alone. The old DRG would never attack up a ramp with his whole army when the protoss was waiting for it. in the same match next set he won but he lost so much muta's he would never have lost before. DRG hasn't won a single match since the GSL ro8. Was Effort better? Hell yea he was better, otherwise he didn't win. Note: i am not saying this is not for every GSL player but DRG is atm simply not playing on his standard.
What strawman arguement exactly? read the article and i quote again.
I am saying that there are 300 current pros and semi-pros that have the potential to come in and dominate SC2 at any moment, with a latency of a few months from the day they switch.
It's not a strawman argument when its taking litterly from the article right? and please don't start with the "it meant something different" or "read between the lines" crap.
Yes, it is. Because a lot of things written are not to be taken literally. When I understand something, I don't stand under that something. Language is very imprecise and interpreting things exactly as they are written is, well, silly unless it is something like an instruction manual or a scientific paper. The elephant article does not really take reading between the lines or understanding it in some strange way. It is a simple and easy to understand argument. People just are not good at understanding arguments.

It's okay to admit he's not favored, I'm cheering for him to win too but It's not going to be easy at all.
Just about everything is stacked against HerO, Creator is 6-0 against him and HerO's PvP is notoriously weak. Also HerO being tired from the flight won't help a lot either.
At least GOM gave him the extra day, unlike Seed!
Hero must repay their kindness by winning.
To be fair HerO does not really benefit much from it? He arrived in Korea three hours or so before his match, the same as Seed.
Oh yeah. I know how to make excuses for my favorite.

He arrived today, he is basically in the same situation, in which seed was yesterday.

Yeah I saw this argument coming...come on man, DRG is slumping. He was the fucking final boss of the GSTL, he carried his team to the finals pretty much single handedly. For quite a while he was the undisputed best zerg in the world. This is clearly no longer the case. He is worse now, on average/at his best, whatever, than he was 6 months ago.
No one is arguing that Kespa is not competitive with GSL, like I said it's what we all expect. Earlier on you posted that 'first it was Kespa players can't beat GSL players, then they can't beat Code S players, now it's MVP and Oz...soon MVP and Oz will lose as well.' No shit dude. You appear to be having an argument with imaginary people that think that Kespa players will never reach the level of GSL Code S stalwarts; no one thinks that. No one. It's almost self evident, in fact.
However what we do disagree with is the idea that Kespa players are going to dominate completely. There's really nothing except fanboyism to indicate that they will. I should hope that we are all happy that Kespa players are beginning (key word beginning) to be competitive with GSL players. But when people jump into LR threads shouting about that fucking elephant then yeah, people get a little defensive.
Do you want me to find quotes, because I can assure you, it is not imaginary people. Actually, there are many rational reasons to believe that Kespa will dominate. It certainly is not just fanboyism. I am not saying 100% of GSL players will become insignificant, of course not. But yes, I find it puzzling that some think Kespa will not dominate. And you will see that they will.
By all means find me the people who think that it's impossible for BW pros who practiced Starcraft for years to catch up to GSL players and we can all laugh at them together. But that's not the people I've seen you arguing with in this thread.
My bad, I meant more like that htey will not catch up to them fast. We still see people saying things like DRG will teach these Kespa scrub. And lo, and behold what happens. Kespa players have been highly impressive and certainly beyond a lot of people's expectations. I suppose that is what I'm saying. I don't think anyone except Kespa pros are able to do this. To be competetive so fast.

Nah because BW fans just got to affirm that BW skills will transition into SC2.
