Wow, win a PvZ without deathball...

That's the way HerO plays. :D It's why his PvZ is some of my favourite.

Hero in general just avoids heavy collosus usage. I love it.

It makes him SO fun to watch. Really gives a glimpse of what the Protoss race could look like without that crutch of a unit.

Reaavuuuu

As much as I hate the Collosus and loved the Reaver in Brood War I still maintain that the Reaver would be overpowered in SC2, now that the game's pathing allows for smart scarabs.

Seriously. The only reason scarabs were ever balanced in SC1 was because you never knew if they were actually going to do what they were supposed to.

Make them smart?! Poor Marines wouldn't stand a chance.

Well, you could make scarabs in SC2 have a 50-60% hit chance. :p

Or you could adjust the damage, or whatever. Nobody is saying they should just copy paste the unit in x_x

Exactly. Remove the luck factor, and balance around them being consistent.

Or make colossi have friendly fire and luck factor aswell. Mohahaha

Give Colossus x1.5 damage, but friendly fire? MADNESS, but would be fun, if only for the lulz of watching colossus kill everything, quite literally everything on the ground.

HerO is on a different level of PvZ I'm afraid.

Poor EffOrt, possibly the hardest draw out of all the KeSPA players.

Man Effort so dissapointing in his ZvP . To think how well he dominated in ZvP in BW . Zergs really got hit hard in SC2 .

Before anyone comments I am a zerg here.

I do not believe this tournament states anything about zerg balance.

Firstly there has only been 6 ZvX matchups where X is not zerg so the data set isn't exactly large.

Look at the relative strengths between the two players in the zerg matchups.
curious won his match against a kespa player.
soulkey and jaedong whilst obviously great at BW are still new to SC2 and played gumiho and alive, 2 top quality terrans.
coca played seed, the GSL champion
effort will likely lose but again he is a kespa player and hero is phenomenal.

and DRG - creator. you would expect DRG to win but if you watched the games he did not play like a GSL champion and was quite sloppy in lots of areas, this is not due to 'balance'.

None of these games have any reflection on balance.

TLDR - 6 games with Large skill differentials between players and a sloppy DRG are not indicators of balance

So basically its two zergs advancing from Round 1. Curious/Miya because its ZvZ and probably Yugi because he plays ZvT. Fucking sad.

To be fair, of the eliminated Zergs, 2-4 (assuming Effort and Roro will be out too) of them are Kespa zergs eliminated by GSL players, so that really doesn't say much about the races. Then theres Coca who lost to the current Code S Champion Seed,
and BBong and Leenock also got 2 of the other current top Protoss opponents too (Squirtle, MC); but even then, they still have a chance to go through. Then theres DRG we just watched, which was pretty close even despite how bad DRG played.

So it's much more of bad luck/mismatches than Zergs doing bad (based on the results of this tournament so far at least)

So what happened to all top Zergs? Isnt Zerg the imba race? Are all of them suddenly in a slump? Coincidence?

What do you mean? 12 Zergs got through the preliminaries for this tournament alone (more than the other 2 races), including current top zergs like Curious, DRG, Coca, Leenock, etc. Sure, it's missing Symbol/Nestea, but you can say for same for Terran missing players like MKP/MMA etc, doesn't really mean much when the preliminaries are Bo3 single elimination.

Too bad it isnt just this tournament. And who cares about prelims, look at round 2.

And my previous reply just explained why Round 2 looks like that; it isn't due to the fact that Zergs are doing bad, it's more of a reason that most of those Zergs are either Kespa Zergs matched against GSL players or Zergs matched against 3 of the current best Protoss, including the current GSL champion (Seed, MC, Squirtle). DRG's game was also close as hell as we just watched, he could of easily won that last game but he threw it away, so it had nothing to do with balance.

Not to mention that DRG is slumping, while Zergs like Symbol, Hyun, Life, Losira, and Nestea aren't even present.

Now I'm just imaging Hero doing reaver drop harass. That would be fun as shit to watch. I think that's the main reason why reavers are better units than colossi, you can't harass with colossi or really do any interesting micro.
