I enjoyed the finals and I don't think Terran are OP in the slightest (and I used to a year ago, something fucking rotten) he just hapenned to play well. Games 1-3 were really good the other 2 still fine.

The boxing ring girls in green and pink were hot, we got gangam style and I sent Choi, Ha-Na many virtual kisses.
I'd say it was a pretty fucking sweet final actually.

Agree with Khaldor interview with D.Kim though, must admit it would be nice if comebacks were a bit more possible in SC2 somehow (but it's almost impossible to balance fairly for that, maybe increase the defenders advantage)

It's funny how people think if you thought the finals were not that great, everyone assumes you're a slayers fanboy, lol. I have no stock in either team, was happy for Gumiho/FXO, game 1 was obviously fantastic, game 2 was exciting, game 3 was exciting at first, but coca kind of threw that one away with poor spine crawler placement/movement, and the subsequent 5-10 minutes of gameplay was gumiho so far ahead that even his poor decision to pull SCVs again was irrelevant. Game 4 was obviously bad, and Game 5 was not a bad game, but not exactly as "close" as people seemed to think, lol. It was winnable for puzzle after he stuffed the 3 pronged push, gumiho was in an incredibly strong position after taking such a fast 3rd, with upgrade advantage and everything. There's nothing wrong with thinking the games weren't great, it doesn't mean you're a hater, or you're a slayers fanboy, lol.

So obviously if you thought these finals were amazing you are an FXO fanboy, right? Isn't that how it works? :p Or maybe we should go with the "What, your opinion is different than mine? You're dumb as shit!"

Best of all was the sign girls though.

Indeed, but GunieaPig was used in the GSTL, GuMiho made it into the individual league as random, which is extremely impressive, and probably explains why he was able to all-kill like he did; playing as random means he has to improvise all his builds.

Was Random for a while. He came out a lot and got a few multi-kills (2-3 usually) for MVP, as well.

It's weird. These finals were pretty good, but if you think about it, they were the worst GSTL finals so far

I think it's more saying that those that go "these finals were awful" are slayers fanboys - because they definitely weren't awful games.

Terran nerf incoming

congrats FXOpen

Not really a nerf, just a TvP metagame shift where Terrans will go back to mass Ghost. Protoss still has no true answer for cloaked Ghosts (and don't you tell me Observers, because scan + viking = dead Obs, unless you expect toss to spend 750 gas on 10 observers).

As for TvZ well, lol, either play really greedy or really aggressive.

That last game had nothing to do with mass cloaked ghosts--more like 5 bases to 3, plus drops doing damage and no blink stalkers to ward them. Gumiho somehow had an upgrade advantage as well. Puzzle's attack that ended up being a relatively smaller and smaller army moving around midfield put him behind when he could have turtled a lot more CreatorPrime style. I can only imagine his impatience to get Gumiho out of the way, knowing the task ahead of him.

Vikings can only snipe so many (speed?) observers without getting shot or stormed down.

As amazing as this finals was, I'm kinda disappointed by the number of all-kills in this season, and really in every GSTL season to date. I wanted to see the whole FXO lineup -- the Leenocktopus, Lucky, and so on. I feel like there have been many teams riding on the success of star players (*cough* DRG Symbol *cough*) rather than building a comprehensive and interesting lineup. Maybe it's just rose-tinted glasses, but I feel like in Winner's League during the Brood War days the all-kills were nowhere near this prevalent, and were thus so much more special when they did occur. (Fantasy's reverse all-kill in the SKT versus Oz finals culminating in the ballsiest cheese possible versus Jaedong is possibly my favorite BW moment)

I'm not sure what it is that makes these ridiculous streaks happen so often now. I don't think it's so much the game itself -- in fact it's an argument against SC2 being more luck-based than BW -- but I'm honestly getting tired of it. I want to see everything that these teams are capable of, and I want to see them put their whole rosters to the test. There's too much talent hidden in these teams (I got really excited when SlayerS pulled out Min) to put them on the back of the same few guys over and over.

I hope to see some of the GOM teams in whatever Proleague becomes, or to maybe see the GSTL switch up its format. I think Proleague hit the right balance when it was in full swing, pulling out Winner's League only for a single season a year to get some freshness going, but otherwise focusing on keeping the teams switching up the talent as much as possible, while also allowing room for their star player to shine.

But don't let my bitching take away from how surprisingly good this finals was. For a score that looks so one-sided, there sure were an awful lot of nail-biting moments. Congrats to FXOpen, and I hope to see SlayerS rebound from this better than ever.

(also I want a format that brings back fantasy league, damnit)
