I was personally disppointed that the series didn't go to 9 games, which I always like to see.

Overall the first few games especially were great. Congratulations to FXO and Gumiho.

yeah, definitely agree.
The other games weren't terrible either.

The TvZ's were both pretty good as well.

Gumiho fully deserved that, and even more props to him for playing the last game straight up. You can only imagine how tired he must have been going into the last game, and I think everyone (including Puzzle) was expecting an all-in. But then he's like "nah f that, I'm just gonna beat him straight up" and throws down a fast third, giving him a 40 supply lead all game against Puzzle who never seemed to be doing the right thing at the right time.

From a neutral spectator's perspective, it was a pretty high quality and entertaining series, even if the scoreline wasn't close in the end.

Especially if you consider how often Gumiho recovered from almost being killed. Several times. Gumiho played his heart out skill wise and you could feel it, even as a spectator.

By the time he was in Code S, and making his Code A run into Code S he had chosen to play Terran full-time.

I thought guineapig was the random player. I used to him him and Gumiho up. Maybe they both were random.

Terran nerf incoming

Not really a nerf, just a TvP metagame shift where Terrans will go back to mass Ghost. Protoss still has no true answer for cloaked Ghosts (and don't you tell me Observers, because scan + viking = dead Obs, unless you expect toss to spend 750 gas on 10 observers).

As for TvZ well, lol, either play really greedy or really aggressive.

I get that game 4 was kind of bad (although Ryung is to blame for that as much as Gumiho), but game 5 was a very nice PvT, with a lot of nice army movement and harass. Yeah, it was a bit onesided, but that doesn't make it bad.

I really hope they change the format to be more of a team event. I hate it when there's an all-kill and they announce 'x is clearly the better team!'

How? All it proved is that one player happened to be red hot on one day.

If an entire team is unable to beat one player when they have the opportunity to study multiple games in a row then they are not the strongest team any day of the week.

Unless it's the day of the week where their player is red hot and all-kills the other side, of course. Then they are the best team, clearly, because one player is doing well.

I know all-kills generate hype, but I think in the long term they're bad for the GSL team league as a whole.

Damn that's a good point, I haven't thought about it like that.

wasn't the final I was looking forward to though. I can understand the first two games.. so much back and forth that I couldn't tell who was gonna win until the very bitter end. Seems like slayers lost their spirit to play after their aces got taken out in such manner? sending out MMA first wasn't a good choice at all..

Sending MMA out was a good choice. He showed that he could of won, and if he did win, the situation for FXO would of been flipped being one game down with a very strong all around player as an opponent (or even worst as FXO doesn't have as many strong players as Slayers)

Like many have said many times before, Game 1 was definitely the turning point of this whole series; MMA could of potentially all kill FXO (or at least forced Leenock out) had he won

People criticising these finals are smoking crack, the games were all excellent and the opener was one of the more exciting long TvTs I've watched ( I usually find TvT boring ).

TvT can be boring but if its exciting its usually more exciting then any other matchup as seen mostly in GSTL.

With the reign of mech vs mech mostly over, TvT is very enjoyable to watch again. Bio/(Tank) vs mech or marine/tank mirrors are very exciting because they are action packed (when played on a high level!).
It was a great final, we saw 5 very entertaining games. The win vs Ryung was one sided, but if you analyze it, you'll see a lot of greatness in Gumiho's play there. His decision making from what he'd seen in this game was so fantastic, allways one step ahead of Ryung there (who is normally known to be a very smart player), so this game was also great!
We had crayz games, we had quality games. What else could you ask for more?

They were in fact both random at one point, but GuMiho started seeing success after he switched to Terran full time.

I'm presuming this was the poll from before the matches. MMA has a lot of fanboys who expected him to do well.

Now Opterown is reposting it because no one expected Gumiho to dominate the series, but it's getting more confused as people who didn't vote before add votes for Gumiho and it becomes a weird amalgamation of opinion.
