I plan on writing a blog about this, but after a lot of thinking on the subject I think the problem with the Collosus is that it's just too mobile for a unit that's supposed to be a siege unit. If they nerfed the hell out of its movement speed, they could potentially up its damage or range and make the unit much more micro intensive and fun to watch in action. It would also force Protoss to use more effort in maintaining the cohesiveness of their deathballs. Would it make it as fun as Reavers? Probably not but it'd be a damn good improvement over the Collosus as it is, it would also promote a lot more use of Warp Prisms in conjunction with Collosus similar to how Reavers in BW operated. Warp Prisms make everything more fun. | ||

At least they synergize well with it but still you can't have colossi on their own or even in mid groups. | ||

It's just a fucking boring unit to watch, and it completely ruins PvP. They tried to do something about it by buffing voids against massive but that didnt work for shit. | ||
