DRG is cocky. He is known for his cockiness. However, the main issue was that there was not a single player out there who could stop him. So what's the solution? Fight fire with FIRE!!! You send out MC, an even cockier player to stop DRG. That is how the world works. There is always someone out there who is cockier than you. XD

XD I am cocksure Seed vs MC will be a cocky cockfight full of verbal cocktails and cockeyed strategies formed in their tactical cockpits to break each others' cockled defenses in what is sure to be a match of cockloft proportions without any cockneyed cockalorums worthy of cockroaches, cockatoos and cockapoos. COCK I should go to sleep

Anyhow, I hope this finals will one up our expectations for PvP and advance the metagame by miles. ...or just a bunch of mind games and all-ins, it's MC after all.

He was here last season as well, eliminated in the first round in 3rd place.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=329091 Basically PvP is about build, scouting and execution, if you screw it up at any point - you lose. What I really find fun (observing) is to try to predict when can a player die, beacuse it goes back and forth, even if players are not engaging. 1 additional tech can turn the whole engagement on it's head and best of all, there is no strict guideline HOW to get to endgame, like the other MU, for example: PvT If no cheeze P FE, T goes into 1-1-1 or any sort of FE. P goes Allin, or stays defensive and tech up to AoE, T harass protoss, tries to deny his 3. After 15 minutes MU turns around, T teches up, to have responce for all P tech, and tries to hold his bases. Lategame (haven't seen other compositions on pro lvl in lategame) MMMVG+Leftovers from oppening vs Protoss Deathball. Game is pretty even and mostly decided by positioning, engagement and good use of spells. Sometimes we see nukes. PvZ If no cheeze P goes FFE, Z goes 3 hatch with a slight possibility to some kind of 2 base allin or just muta. P pressures the Z to get on even footing in order to secure 3rd, or do any 2 base timing. Z goes 3 hatch allin to try and kill P or deny his 3rd. P gets any or both blink/colossi and pushes against zerg, if fails, defends and teches, zerg teches to spine-infestor-BL. Positional play, protoss tries either blink-kill BL or teches to MS and archon-toilet, zerg is pushing, or just slowly moving with spines. Protoss harasses income-production of zerg while constructing ultimate deathball (Archon, Colossus, Templar, Stalker, Zealot, Carrier, MS) and if is able, then usualy wins (only if mispositioned, or/and poor engagement). So PvP is the most undecide MU, love it.

Although losing in the finals is devastating as well, I somehow feel Ro4 is worse. At least if you are in the finals, you get all the build up to the finals. Even if you lose, you can tell yourself you got to the finals and will be better prepare next time and it is the last game of the season so there is some closure. With Ro4, you are SO close and yet know that 2 more players will be playing in the finals in the coming week.

With Ro4, you are SO close and yet know that 2 more players will be playing in the finals in the coming week. Not only that but the prize money difference between second place in Code S and ro4 is HUGE Champion ₩ 50,000,000 $ 42,633 € 33,351 Runner-up ₩ 20,000,000 $ 17,053 € 13,340 Semifinalists ₩ 5,000,000 $ 4,263 € 3,335 So, Byun losing that game 5 was him losing a 13,000$ ( at minimum ) game. For the Korean pros this is their lives, they don't play part time or have other jobs. Losing a game worth that much money is going to sting for sure. Also, finalists are always remembered in GSL history. Semi-finalists not so much. So you cement your legacy in sc2 by getting to the finals, win or lose. I bet very few people remember that Alive and Gumiho were the ro4 players in GSL Season 1 of this year but everyone can tell you that Inca made a finals a year ago.

It's hard to compare overall because it's been so long that it's hard to draw direct comparisons between those players now. Yes, because there is a big hype build up to the finals and also you get to play on the special stage. So you actually feel " Wow, I got here and I am playing in the finals". Whereas Ro4 is pretty much the same as the rest of Code S except if you win, you get to be in the finals.

Congratz to Seed and MC though, PvP finals certainly doesn't happen everyday!

I was rooting for Byun (I like me my Terrans) or DRG (who could use another championship), but now I think I'm rooting for MC (who's a baller) even though I feel like I'm being mean to Seed (an excellent underdog)

You don't even need to watch the game to know how its gonna end, someone's going to screw up their positioning and the other guy a-moves him to death. Not very fun.
