the problem for Byun is that there is no more TvT atm and he's probably the best TvTer. Still not sure about his vP too but his mindgames will give him and edge for sure.

I´m not sure MC can beat DRG, but I think MC at least has an edge in the important micro battles.
MC can beat anyone. It's the reason why he's still our president, it all depends on what MC shows up.
Anyone that can get to RO4 is good enough to win the championship. How they perform that day will be a factor. A lot of people like to think one player is better than the other will win for sure. But this is just not the case. I mean Nestea got 3-0 by Byun today. But I can totally see Nestea win 2-0 in an online tournament a couple days later.

I think Naniwa is the best performing foreign player in GSL ever as of now. Okay Jinro did go to semifinals twice but during a period when there was a lot more imbalance and shit still going on.
Huk was long in GSL but the difference for me is that I did not ever feel like Huk could win GSL. Maybe it is just me, but I never got the "holy shit Huk might actually take this feeling" when Huk was in GSL. Once he made it to round of 8 if I remember correct and then he lost a very one sided game 0-3 against MVP.
If Naniwa had 2 more sentries and had been able to split the army of DRG during the battle on the highground on Antiga. That would have made that Battle a lot more one sided for Naniwa and he would not have lost his immortals. This was the worst possible opponent for Naniwa and it went to the final game. If he had won on Antigua I think Naniwa would had a good chance on the title.

I think a fair amount of people expected ByuN to outclass NesTea tbh, he's very, very good.

When sitting in the booth he was twitching and moving around ridiculously fast (compared to DRG who was barely moving at all). I got the impression that his mind was completely racing. Considering his cerebral style of play, maybe he is just a more introverted and intellectual type of guy who doesn't value things like propping up some superficial image of himself. I kinda respect that. no but pretty much everyone saids that in private Naniwa is a pretty rude guy, watch JP real talk IdrA he goes into details on how horrible a person Naniwa is cause idra's such a great guy, anyone he doesn't like must be a horrible person. Haha seriously. I can't think of any other pro game who has a worse attitude than IdrA. When Naniwa loses he goes home, practices his ass off, invents new builds and changes the entire metagame. When IdrA loses he makes a web series called imbalance with Artosis, and then does as many interviews as possible complaining about how unfair shit is. the webshow he made while ripping apart Koreans in Code S? and generally being a baller in Korea? the probe-rush thing was the only questionable moment i can think of Naniwa ever doing. however, one cannot count on two hands and two feet the amount of straight up idiotic and bad-attitude things idra has done.

Well played Naniwa. You might not be the nicest person around, but it's nice watching a foreigner take it to the Koreans.
Hopefully the 'do anything and win' guys there start taking you a little more seriously.

He chewed my face off in Providence because I wasn't enthusiastic enough about his autograph. I was getting autographs from other pro players, which are currently hanging up behind the bar in my restaurant, and Naniwa was kind of just awkwardly standing there. I said to myself "Well I should probably get his autograph too, even though I don't really know him that well, so that he doesn't feel left out/I don't appear to him to be rude." and offered him the pen and the poster. He said "If I don't want to?" and I just smiled and shrugged at him like "No big deal if you don't want to." and he went absolutely apeshit.
That experience is why I personally find it hard to get excited about Naniwa even though I respect that he's a good player.

I know he's really good, the question is more: Is his TvP GSL champion lvl. and i'm not 100% sure about that.

Agree. Not cheering for the foreigner is like treason. It's like being English and cheering for Spain to win the world cup because they are the better team. Foreigners are one! Even if you hate the player, you should cheer for him so that we can crush these Koreans once and for all.

You don't like him as a person? So, you've met and talked with him in real life and got to know him? Peoples' actions in the public view shape perceptions. So what if he hasn't met him? I haven't met Naniwa in person, I can still have an opinion of him based on what I see. If he doesn't like it maybe he should change his behaviour. Agreed. I'm not quite an antifan of Naniwa, but based on what I have seen of him, I must say that I have considerably less respect for him as a person than I do for many other progamers. Obviously his play is fantastic and obviously he's not a terrible person. However I just have my reasons for not liking him as a person as much as other pros.
