Huk was long in GSL but the difference for me is that I dont ever feel like Huk could win GSL. Maybe it is just me, but I never got the "holy shit Huk might actually take this feeling" when Huk was in GSL. Once he made it to round of 8 if I remember correct and then he lost a very one sided game 0-3 against MVP if i remember correct.

If Naniwa had 2 more sentries and had been able to split the army of DRG during the battle on the highground on Antiga. That would have made that Battle a lot more one sided for Naniwa and he would not have lost his immortals. This was the worst possible opponent for Naniwa and it went to the final game. If he had won on Antigua I think Naniwa would had a good chance on the title.

so basically

"i know Jinro has gotten better results in GSL then Naniwa but i dont like Jinro so lets just ignore him"

you cant just ignore Jinro, hes gotten the best results in the GSL of any foreigner ever

it;s the same thing as saying Jakji's performance was better than FruitDealer's.

or that Squirtles performance was better than Incas

i mean who knew that winning the game when it's far more developed, with far better players, means that you're more impressive?

Clearly, because he's a foreigner who used to be BM and 7 probe rushed Nestea this one time, and even though he has become much more humble (comparatively) and respectful (definitely) of his opponents, he is just a bad allin foreigner protoss who can't actually hang with koreans and gets by through a combination of luck and his opponents derping. It's not actually his own skill level - if his opponents played like they would against any normal korean, he would easily be Code B.

no but Naniwa is still a rude little man

Naniwa may be just a tiny bit anti-social, and that is probably magnified when in front of huge crowds of people and on livestreams that are being watched by thousands of people. I remember not liking him at first, but watching him closely reveals things about him that I think are pretty interesting. He seems to think extremely quickly at all times. When sitting in the booth he was twitching and moving around ridiculously fast (compared to DRG who was barely moving at all). I got the impression that his mind was completely racing. Considering his cerebral style of play, maybe he is just a more introverted and intellectual type of guy who doesn't value things like propping up some superficial image of himself. I kinda respect that.

no but pretty much everyone saids that in private Naniwa is a pretty rude guy, watch JP real talk IdrA he goes into details on how horrible a person Naniwa is

cause idra's such a great guy, anyone he doesn't like must be a horrible person.

Haha seriously. I can't think of any other pro game who has a worse attitude than IdrA. When Naniwa loses he goes home, practices his ass off, invents new builds and changes the entire metagame. When IdrA loses he makes a web series called imbalance with Artosis, and then does as many interviews as possible complaining about how unfair shit is.

the webshow he made while ripping apart Koreans in Code S? and generally being a baller in Korea?

Naniwa is making Ro8 Code S twice in a row and will be in Code S next season too. I'm not even a fan of Naniwa but you can't deny that the guy has balls of steel and is easily one of the best protoss in the world. Idra isn't even the best US zerg these days.

God knows why the guy has so many fans. It's like being a fan of Titus Bramble ffs.

and coming from a drg fan I'd say he is a teensy bit overrated

the problem for Byun is that there is no more TvT atm and he's probably the best TvTer. Still not sure about his vP too but his mindgames will give him and edge for sure.

He won quite a a bit of TvP with just his ghost control. It was a pleasure to watch.

I know he's really good, the question is more: Is his TvP GSL champion lvl. and i'm not 100% sure about that.

i think it is :D he took out parting, squirtle, ace, seed, genius, etc lots of great PvTers

i hope you're right, would be pretty cool to see Z and P reaction if a T wins once again the GSL :D

Nani's personality is beginning to be thoroughly dissected though, a regular event in any Nani game LR thread. We must discuss at length every bad thing about his personality and why we hate him.

.

Lets start with his eyebrows. I cant understand how anyone could walk around like that.

I'll skip the sarcasm and say i just plain don't like the fellow even if i respect him as a good player i really dislike him as a person so cannot really root for him.. pretty much any other foreigner (aside from idra) i would be rooting for all the way in the gsl.

Not that my input on the matter really counts, but I just want to say that I think that's a totally fine stance to take. What's frustrating is when people refuse to acknowledge good play from him BECAUSE they don't like him. Don't like him? Alright, that's fine, he's not the most lovable personality and has been worse in the past, apparently. But trying to say stuff like, "He got a seed so he doesn't really count as Code S because he never earned it" after two great runs in the hardest tournament in the world? That gets a bit frustrating, because at that point it just feels like blind hatred and you can't even talk about anything.

And yeah, sad that Nani lost, but if DRG takes this tournament, geez... Losing in the Ro8 to the eventual champions twice in a row? :-p And to be fair, DRG is pretty beastly, and Nani took him to game five. On top of which everyone was saying how Nani was only doing so well because he was lucky enough to avoid most zergs. So, not a bad showing -- yeah, he'll have to do better if he wants to win Code S next time, but if he keeps up his current level of play he could actually have a good shot at it.

Sweden-based posters reminds me of english fans after a defeat of their national squad at football. Too many "if" in all their posts.

About the best foreigner title, i have a question. What builds were created by Naniwa? I only remember the 3 stalker opening in PvP, but i'm not even sure if he invented it. Naniwa seems to be excellent at executing build orders, but he doesn't seem as creative as MC (how many two bases all-in has he invented?) or Stephano in the foreign scene (he literally changed the entire way you play PvZ with his 200/200 max roach army in the 11 minute, and he reintroduced ultras in standard zerg play).

Yeah man. Being socially awkward and a bit BM makes you a terrible human being. Get some perspective. There are people out there who order the deaths of thousands of people just for the sake of a few feet of land or have peoples hands cut off for stealing apples.

They are terrible human beings. Naniwa is just rude.

I think Naniwa is the best performing foreign player in GSL ever as of now. Okay Jinro did go to semifinals twice but during a period when there was a lot more imbalance and shit still going on.

This ^^. Everyone else plays under the same conditions so what Jinro did was impressive. Of course the game will change and players get better. It would be like saying someone who qualified for the latest BW OSL has better performance than Boxer. Because from a pure gameplay stand point, they are probably right.

/sarcasm

no but Naniwa is still a rude little man

It's like being a fan of Titus Bramble ffs.

a "bit" bm is an understatement, he went into IdrAs fanclub to talk shit about IdrA and there are tons of storys from teams hes been on and palyers hes met that all say hes extremely BM

Can't understand why a foreigner would want DRG to win.

Agree. Not cheering for the foreigner is like treason. It's like being English and cheering for Spain to win the world cup because they are the better team. Foreigners are one! Even if you hate the player, you should cheer for him so that we can crush these Koreans once and for all.

it seems that having "sweden" near your name works like a disease whenever Nani's involved in something...

I'd do the same for stephano.

and i tought that patriotism was avoided in Sweden, it seems to be universal like stupidity.

Yeah, there's a lot of stupid unpatriotic people around the world. Sickening.
