Wait, was that actually said by an employee of IPL? That's pretty unbelievable if so.

Yeah. From a financial perspective I suppose it's best for them. It's too bad LoL is so unwatchably terrible though :/. Well it does help that LoL's developer plays a big role in its development as an esport. And the fact that LoL events are linked directly in the game client. And the game's free. So yeah. I agree though that it's not really an entertaining spectator game. Sc2 is probably still better as a serious eSport, I'd say. Blizzard needs to push the issue with competition and viewership, though. As it is, LoL has viewers but not a whole lot of high quality/professional events, and not the same kind of professional infrastructure Sc2 does. Blizzard really needs to press that advantage before it's lost. What separates a serious eSport from an eSport?

Well, I think LoL will have its moment of truth once Dota 2 is released.

I have no doubt that LoL will get there pretty soon, because it's insanely popular, but if Sc2 wants to survive it needs to take advantage of the things it's doing well.

Seed has no observers... if taeja gets ghost cloak, could be an easy GG.

TBH, when your main sponsor in almost every tournament is your game developer, and you sign exclusivity contracts with tournaments (only A-RTS that tournament), you have an easier time. We'll see.
