Did you watch the game? Drg was behind after the 6 pool. Alicia's go kill timing was earlier but drg defended with the spins and infestors. Drg jumped ahead when he double expanded to bases 4 and 5.

Yea he was so behind he went onto 5 bases.

Don't bother dude. It's a waste of time arguing after a championship about balance (even though I completely agree with you). Whether you get "it's the map" or "player X is just really good" no Zerg player will ever acknowledge that being able to cheese against standard play and come out even is stupid.

QFT.

That game was as standard as possible for a failed 6 pool. However DRG took a bunch of greedy expansions that Alicia was too late in scouting. Attacking the spines with his collosus push instead of the 4th really hurt him.

Also, don't forget that the Protoss player went pylon > forge > pylon > cannon > cannon > pylon > gateway. That's not exactly quick tech or standard play.

SOOOOOooooOOOOooooOOOOoo Many BANELINGS!!

6 pool is standard on TD according to some PvZ people.

but 6 pool that does basically no damage into that?

DRG never looked venerable the entire game which seems pretty silly

6 pool is guaranteed to kill at least a pylon and a forge and delay nexus for a long time on maps like TDA, it didn't do "basically no damage"

The reason DRG doesn't look vulnerable is that he's the best damn zerg in the world. He's really really good.

yes but Alicia did pretty much the optimal 6 pool defense considering toss pretty much have to FFE every game... and the 6 pool gives you a low drone count and late 2nd, into 2 base investor, mutas that did not much and still the result looked inevitable

It's not like that was game 1 with the multitasking ect.. could have been pretty much any pro zerg playing that game

could just be the TDA factor making that game look so one-sided tho

If you let Toss FFE, your third is always going to be in an awkward location, and that can be exploited by a variety of Toss timings, most predominantly being the +2 blink stalker timing off of the FFE. So you either have to deal with that, or go 2 base vs 2 base Toss, which also kind of sucks. Therefore, you 6p to reset the game and allow yourself to expand faster.

The problem with Alicia's play is he never scouted the double expand, and his third was too slow. He should have killed those rocks with his army before he pushed out. But he did everything else before that perfectly. If he had scouted the 4th (his hallu phoenix died JUST before reaching it) he could have easily killed it, and it would have been 3 base vs 3 base.

Another thing I would like to see in PvZ is faster templar tech against Infestors. So many Protosses wait so long, or go for robo --> colossus instead... which gives Z so much time to respond. Templars force roaches since storm/feedback destroys Ling/Infestor, then you can go robo after forcing roaches.

Calm down with the imbalance whine if you don't even understand what you're watching.

So true. People are far from responding perfectly. Strange if you see how long they are playing SCII.
I had a good night of sleep.

Well depression need not be the conclusion you reach. It's ok to realize you can't be pro. But then you should say "Hey, I'm a handsome nerd baller, like many other nerd ballers, and it's ok"

Only Protosses that can beat DRG is probably HerO and MC. Good try though Alicia.

Yeah 6 pool is completely viable strategy. After all, DRG transitioned perfectly out of it, as you could see.

Wouldn't say it failed exactly. Most P's on ladder even know how to defend this, as most Z's know that all they'll get is the pylon and forge. And that's usually the intent, to reset the game back to one base v two. You'll only really kill a P if the open nexus first.

I think I'd rather work in the industry then play the game it surrounds. Kind of weird, right?
